Perry Maxwell, 1939
Blessed to see another of Maxwell’s best last week. Such a dramatic piece of land, creating angles and uneven lies that complicate every shot. Wonderful green sites/complexes. I think it’s the best course I’ve ever played.

Everyone will talk about the birdie at 17 and the drive at 18, but the shot Cam hit from the bunker into this green was unreal. Full swing pitching wedge and that ball could have easily hummed over the green or come up well short. Huge par after a tough break.

Lots of discussion this weekend about the Player's being better than the PGA. Recency bias is a thing, but I believe this is 100% due to the fact that we all know TPC Sawgrass, especially that finish.
And the event comes in March when we're starved for big-time golf!
The PGA has some good venues coming up (see below), but that May date continues to be a problem, excluding many great locales in the upper Midwest.
IMO the PGA needs to move back to August and lean into Glory's Last Shot. Then pick unique venues...don't try to be a Diet US Open.

@MidwestGolfJake @Top100Rick Although I enjoyed playing both Valhalla and Quail Hollow, I agree that neither of those golf courses should be hosting a major. Wait till they drag it down to Frisco. The PGA thinks that’s going to be great, however, it may be the last straw.

The Players Championship is clearly NOT a major.
However, it clearly is better than one of them.
One of the best Sundays of golf in a long time. We saw everything. We finally got the conditions and setup to really test the players. What a damn day.
