After 20 years, #Budget2024 FINALLY includes increases to the Canadian Graduate Scholarships Program. This is an important investment in the future of Canada. But, this is only step one. More (💰) must be done to recruit & retain the next generation of Canadian researchers 🧠🇨🇦

The changes to the Doctoral Awards are peculiar. #Budget2024 sees an increase to the annual value of doctoral scholarships to $40k. But, the Vanier was already $50k. It's unclear what will happen to the Vanier & why the annual minimum wasn't raised to $50k for this category ⁉️😕

The @ASD_South has greatly mishandled this complex issue. To ignore the existence of a student because of their manner of death is unacceptable. School boards must do better, especially when interacting w/ the parents and loved ones of a student who has died.
