@Pirat_Nation Honestly it doesn't sound that far off, Nvidia's only progress in hardware has been improving their AI cores to make more fake frames, but their GPU architecture has been stuck almost the same since the 20xx gen.

@HelldiverGodGuy @Pirat_Nation Network cards are expensive. Nvidia sells network cards for $1.5-4.5k that people need to buy to connect their GPU to a switched network. Putting the Ethernet port in the card directly saves all of that power, cost, and complexity

@DenmarkAsterisk @Pirat_Nation The second PCIe edge connector is like SLI/crossfire, enables multi-GPU Laptop RAM (SO-DIMMs) allows users to choose how much memory they want and upgrade in the future

@Pirat_Nation why does it have connection pins on both sides? why does it appear to have laptop ram mounted on it?

If the hardware is not good at ray/path tracing, then yeah you need workarounds/tricks like frame gen (which then nvidia forces on game devs). We aim to make the hardware fast so those aren’t needed to get to playable frame rates, but rather takes you from 120 to 240 fps as an example

🚨 BREAKTHROUGH OR BLUFF? 🚨 Bolt Graphics just shook the GPU world with its surprise Zeus GPU reveal — claiming 10x the rendering power of $NVDA RTX 5090… using laptop DDR5 memory and a single 8-pin connector. Expandable memory up to 384 GB? On a GPU? With SO-DIMM slots? And oh — did we mention it has an RJ45 port? While specs look like sci-fi, Bolt swears it’s launching by 2027. But how does a monster GPU with massive TDP requirements sip just 120W of power? Either Bolt just pulled off the biggest leap in GPU engineering ever… or we’re witnessing the most ambitious PR flex.

@Pirat_Nation It's not a gaming GPU and won't even have drivers for it. If claims end up being true, it will only be true for the specified workloads, it won't be true for other traditional GPU tasks.

@Pirat_Nation The RAM on it is DDR5, excuse me while I doubt any speed claims other than "it is slow compared to a real GPU."
