I don't need to read about religion to know that abuse is bad. Trying to justify it makes you as bad as the abuser. Please show some respect to people.

When I was a kid I made sprite comics with Mario assets. Then I started making my own sprites and backgrounds and using those. Now I'm essentially making machinima with my own engine and assets. There's something amusing about this, like I'm back where I started.

@Birdaboveclouds My partner and I did it in a different way, they never applied for asylum; so I'm not sure how long it takes. We do think you're extremely brave for doing what you did. We know it's not easy.

@Birdaboveclouds I'm happy you got out, not only are you safer; but you have much more freedom. My partner is also from a gulf-state and we went through a similar scenario. It's scary in the beginning and surreal, but after a year or two you'll get used to what real normalcy is like.

@Birdaboveclouds If I understand the comments you are getting correctly, people are justifying the abuse by saying that murders happen more everywhere else? What does that even have to do with domestic abuse? Sound like a lazy way to justify bad behavior.

If we were in the UK, all three perpetrators, my birth parents and birth brother, would be looking at a few years in prison, no parole. Charges would be physical assault, false imprisonment as well as controlling and coercive behaviour. cps.gov.uk/domestic-abuse
