While I adore the Enhanced Games, I think that what they’re proving isn’t that peptides will give the people at the top of their game an insane push. Rather, I think their real usefulness and place in society lies in helping unhealthy populations get back to healthy.

@hhawnk15 This is where I have a problem. People can only conceive of being healthy. Like that's nice! For sure! But when you're ill, you're ill because you can't do those things, so it doesn't really matter where optimal health would come from, it matters what you can do now

I don't care what the "most optimal best ever" state is, I care about what we can do in this reality, now, to help, and yes! That in fact seems to be the only thing we can do! I mean I can only speak for myself but it very much so was a thing where I could not do the movement because of how ill I was — these drugs changed my life and gave me back much more than I had before. Your intuition is fine in an already healthy body, but consider the limitations of a sick body and what can be done to help get back to baseline so they can do movement

Is that true? The whole concept of a magic pills for health seems questionable to me. Some compounds might improve bio markers with predictive value, but my intuition is that the health comes from movement, and reproducing the effects of movement doesn’t necessarily reproduce the health
