And then I said to him, ‘Do you know the United States, the size of it?’ “And, you know, again, I said we're this wide, 2,500 miles, three different time zones, different climates, different cultures. “He took the napkin, he rolled it up, and he threw it at me, and he said, ‘You’ve got a problem.’ “And, you know, to this day, I think it's always going to be difficult for us as a country to have a style of play, even though I think Bob and Gregg would agree that we've had a certain DNA with our national teams. “But it's difficult to try to duplicate what Spain does or France does. You know, we're just different, and we're going to have to find a way to accomplish being better at the international level. “And that can be done. But we're not going to do it using the formula that Spain has or France has or other countries. We have to establish our own. “And I think it starts with the league as well, that we have more domestic players playing in our league, our national team coaches have more options. So, you know, that's my opinion.”
