@Gboogie32P40785 @PikHacker Multiple 100% runs of the game later, I agree it's not terrible to the degree some make it out to be. That said, I do find it enough of a pacing-issue that I don't blame them for despising it. It's a unique flavor of patience-testing the series otherwise avoids, after all.

@Gboogie32P40785 @PikHacker As opposed to whether or not it's a problem to begin with, I'd like to hear your take on the net-positive the hour of grinding purples in Subterranean Complex provides for a 100% playthrough. If that hour was shortened somehow, would Pikmin 2 be a worse game for it? If so, why?

Don’t see how grinding for Purples and carrying Doomsday makes it the most annoying thing ever

@PJiggles_ In this example, Yoshi can Ground Pound to clip/flip the Shady Parakoopa and deal 2 HP damage, while Mario finishes it with 6-power Earth Tremor. Without ATK buffs or partner upgrades, Mario's guaranteed to not get attacked in this fight. Huge applications for any challenge-runs!

@PJiggles_ Power Bounce/Multibonk/Ground Pound got buffs in the remake! Originally, flying shell enemies' DEF don't drop to 0 until they hit the ground after the attack ends. In the remake, their DEF updates after the first 2 hits, meaning multi-jumps clip wings, flip shells AND damage now!
