SpaceX, across Musk’s constellation of assets, has a plausible path to owning every single layer. Chips. Models. Data. Internet delivery. And the rockets to put it all wherever physics allows. No other company has that opportunity.

Intel is joining Terafab! SpaceX, @xAI, and @Tesla are launching the most epic chip-building effort ever - combining logic, memory, and advanced packaging under one roof → terafab.ai
Intel@intel

Intel is proud to join the Terafab project with @SpaceX, @xAI, and @Tesla to help refactor silicon fab technology. Our ability to design, fabricate, and package ultra-high-performance chips at scale will help accelerate Terafab’s aim to produce 1 TW/year of compute to power future advances in AI and robotics. It was fun hosting @elonmusk at Intel this past weekend!

Man, what a trip the Japs are: Leaving shoes behind when committing suicide in Japan is a deeply ingrained cultural practice symbolizing a transition to another realm, respect for the location, and preparation for the afterlife. It acts as a final act of order and personal resolution, often signaling that the individual is leaving the physical world behind. Key reasons for this practice include: Cultural Etiquette: In Japan, removing shoes before entering homes or sacred spaces is mandatory to keep them clean. Leaving them at a suicide site, such as a bridge or forest, is a continuation of this ritualized, respectful behavior. Symbolic Transition: It signifies stepping out of the material world and leaving one's physical, societal, and functional "identity" behind. Orderly Departure: Leaving shoes, often neatly paired, allows the individual to depart "cleanly" without creating a mess or causing unnecessary disruption to others. Signal of Intent: The shoes act as a clear sign of the person's final resolve, separating the act from a momentary or accidental incident.

$AMZN just bought Fauna Robotics, a 3.5 feet tall humanoid robot start up the goal of this form factor isn’t to compete with the other humanoid companies in jobs that require advanced hand dexterity, it’s to dominate the market of jobs that only require a moving body, such as retail & hospitality, education, tour guides, etc… there are a tons of physical jobs that don’t require hands, and a miniature, emotional expressive, safety-first design is the ideal form factor to tackle this market

the best-case orbital data center scenario for the hyperscalers is if SpaceX dramatically lowers launch costs via Starship but fails to produce chips via the terafab this would force them to sell their extra launch capacity to other cloud providers who have chips to power

A startup called Inversion has introduced Arc, a space-based vehicle designed to deliver cargo anywhere on Earth in under an hour. It can travel at Mach 25 during re-entry, store cargo in orbit for up to 5 years, and land autonomously using an AI-guided system. Built with support from NASA Ames Research Centre, it will first serve defence missions, with full global delivery operations planned by 2028.

Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

NEWS: Jeff Bezos' rocket company Blue Origin has filed an official request with the FCC to launch and operate a constellation of 51,600 AI satellites (orbital datacenters), just two weeks after Amazon filed a formal petition calling on the FCC to deny @SpaceX’s 1 million-satellite proposal for orbiting datacenters, going as far to claim the project would take “centuries” to deploy. Blue Origin's project, called “Project Sunrise,” would include up to 51,600 satellites in low Earth orbit, designed to run AI and cloud computing workloads using constant solar power. The system would primarily use laser (optical) links between satellites. Blue Origin says "space-based data centers could relieve pressure on Earth’s power grids and water usage."

When you bought the $50,000 Tesla Model Y to save on gas & maintenance. Then you learned: - It loses 20-35% of its value by year 3 - It loses 55-58% of its value by year 5 So by year 5 you lost $35,000+ of value? ....Congrats on saving ~$1,000/yr on gas.

@DrPhiltill I thought the same thing. I'm hoping long term it will be Blue Origin selling the picks and shovels for orbital launches and satellite rack, and AWS hosting the cloud and supplying the chips.
