I walk past this book every day on the way to the kitchen, and I think "Wow, I bet that book is incredible". Has anybody here read it?

My advice, for what it’s worth: try not to be distracted by the faintly discourteous, the mildly incompetent, the harmlessly obnoxious. Roll with the delayed trains, dropped litter and misused apostrophes. Save your powder for the truly malevolent creatures now stalking the land.

Sadly it’s happened again. Those wanting to sell are never our regular customers. We need to sell to buy!

@Bottbooks Indeed. More today - and someone just dropped two boxes of old paperbacks and legged it. We have lovely customers but the sellers… 🤔

@BooksinFram Sadly that business model would only work if a) all the books offered were actually saleable (many are just rubbish) b) the number of books we sold equalled the number coming in, that would give us income to employ staff to help deal with all the books. Mr Micawber economics

Having made a decision yesterday not to buy any large book collections for the foreseeable future, the first phone call this morning was from somebody with 25 000 books to sell.

@Bottbooks And we had a phone call from someone who’d already tried you! It has indeed gone mad. It’s like people think we’re a public service. We’d love to help everyone but that business model doesn’t work sadly.

@BooksinFram It’s gone crazy, we’ve also had 2 people turn up today with the contents of their parents book collection in their car boot. I suspect one of your 4 people then phoned us as he lived much closer to you.
