Hammerson has revealed its vision for the old John Lewis in Grand Central. The Drum will mainly be 200,000 sq ft of "wellbeing-designed offices" with restaurant, food market, cycle hub, bar, gym & rooftop garden lounge. The workspace is expected to accommodate up to 2,000 people

@BookyGeeky @grandcentral Hello. Apologies for this. On occasion, we may need to lock a toilet out of use. Hopefully, the other accessible toilet on board became available after not too long ^CW

Only one disabled loo in @grandcentral Apparently not important enough to fix. And someone has been in the other disabled loo for 10 mins unlocked not using it.

@StarbucksIre out of the handful branches I’ve been to- they DO not stock peppermint syrup, whhhhhy?! So much for being a ‘green’ country. Wish there were more indie coffee shops in rural places.

Tweeting for a friend: Is there any case law or useful for pre-legal persuasion with employers around disabled people being able to work remotely as a reasonable adjustment? @beccajiggens @RBraadshaaw you two and others might know?

@ConnorScottG I get you- I’m DeafBlind, the amount of time people say ‘wow’ when I say I work full time. It’s shocking people think we are incapable of doing things like making our own cuppa let alone hold down a job

And you might think "ok but what does that have to do with Strictly?" Nothing, really. Except a blind person being so visible in the public eye is really highlighting what people really think of us and our lives.

We wonder why the employment rate for blind people is so low, and then I read tweets about Chris on strictly saying he's amazing because can you imagine walking across a room with your eyes closed, and I have the answer. People really think so little of our lives.

@Limping_Chicken This is something I would watch however can I clarify the wording ‘first deaf-led video podcast’ Does this mean first to talk about careers or first ever deaf-led podcast? If it’s the latter you need to watch @socially__sound they do deaf-led video podcasts & have done for years

Not me trying to explain to my GP surgery that ‘booking’ an interpreter from a multi-language agency does not mean the agency has actually booked someone & the surgery DOES need to check before the appt that the booking was filled. Them: the interpreter has been booked. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Are you kidding? We've no teachers. Can't see a GP. Can see counsellor. Roads are a joke. Staff striking year in year out for cost of living wage rise and you thought this was a good idea? And that's before we discuss the moral implications of a "commonwealth"
John Swinney@JohnSwinney

Very pleased, after constructive discussions with partners, we have been able to agree to Glasgow hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2026. It will be scaled back compared to 2014 but will be a celebration of sporting achievement. Excited about Glasgow 2026. bbc.com/news/articles/…

@NovicSara Went to a forum once about making a venue accessible. Was the only disabled person in the room & was ignored. So I just walked out of the meeting. They were so busy being loud advocating for their disabled child that they actually drowned out an actual disabled adult’s voice

After three years away on secondment, I returned to the BDA last week and conducted a two-day induction in London. It's strange to be travelling for business again, getting up early to catch a flight ✈️.

I came across this and had a wee think. This is my opinion, I feel the deaf community needs to be better at this. I am not sure why deaf abusers are being allowed to be 'successful'? How do we stop this?inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyl…
