All discrimination laws for medical issues are based around the reasonableness of the accommodation. In this scenario, the fact the restaurant is saying they'd need to stop everything, clean the pots, pans, utensils, food surfaces, etc. before her meal can be cooked is an undue burden. They'd lose business by being forced to freeze their cooking of all other items for one customer. This is why gluten issues aren't covered under restaurant food rules like other allergies (at least here in NYC). The burden to accommodate is too much.

This woman is trying to order Chinese food from her local restaurant. She claims she has celiac disease and insists on gluten free items only. She even requests that the food be prepared separately from where the normal food is prepared, and that all surfaces including the woks be scrubbed with soap and water before they cook her food separately. The restaurant replies that they can make her a gluten free meal but they don’t have the time to thoroughly scrub down everything just to make one meal. You can tell she’s irritated they said no, but is her expectations to accommodate her condition realistic?

Cadbury’s was once iconic British chocolate. Now the taste just isn’t what it used to be. A recipe that lasted over 100 years… and somehow they made it worse.

Is it just me or does Cadbury not taste the same anymore? I don’t know if it’s the palm oil, the recipe change, or the fact a bar now costs about the same as a small mortgage… but something’s definitely changed.
