I have a good friend who has on multiple occasions recounted what it was like trying to date a single mother. The woman he was dating wanted him to fulfill all aspects of being a father while not being allowed any input on the child. The child would constantly remind him he was not the father so the child didn't have to listen to him. The mom wouldn't get sitters so when they would go on dates she would take the child and make him pay for both of them. I have zero desire to go through any of that.

Turkey was born through the worst genocide in Middle Eastern history. Before the creation of the Turkish Republic, roughly 1 in 4 people in Asia Minor were non-Turkish and non-Muslim. Afterwards, 99% were Turkish.
Between 1915 and 1923, the Turks murdered:
- 1,200,000 million Armenians
- 350,000-500,000 Greeks
- 250,000–300,000 Assyrians
Beyond these specific groups, there was a broader policy aimed at removing Christians from Anatolia to create a Turkish Muslim ethnostate.
In 1923, the Turks expelled 1.5 million Greeks from Anatolia, achieving near total racial "purity."
In addition to being a genocider, Turkey is also a settler-colonizer movement that exterminated the native population. Greeks and Armenians have lived in Anatolia for thousands of years before the Turks arrived there in 1071.
However, this isn’t a matter of history. Even as I write these lines, the Turks are ethnically cleansing native Kurds from Syria and native Greeks from Cyprus, and replacing them with Turkish and Arab settlers. Ironically, thousands of those settlers are Palestinians, such as those stealing the homes of Kurds in Afrin.
So for 100 years, Turkey has been the worst settler-colonizer and genocider in all of Asia and arguably the world. Amazingly, none of its victims have the right of return to the homes their families were expelled from. No one is marching for their rights either. I wonder why?
If such actions make a nation illegitimate than Turkey is the most illegitimate country on the planet.
