Since 2015, BGS & @BoulbyLab have been researching underground hydrogen & compressed air energy storage in halite (rock salt). Many gasses could be stored in man-made caverns underground for long duration energy storage allowing us to balance our renewable energy system.

A very fun (and busy!) day yesterday for @DoorsOpenDays showcasing the awesome Remote3 programme we run with @STFC_Matters & @BoulbyLab! We helped lots of children learn to program the little @LEGO_Group rovers to detect water on “Mars!” @RemoteRobots @PhysAstroEd @Edinburgh_PPE
