Some of Box's followers will know this, but after spending a lot of time grieving, looking through her posts and reminiscing, we're slowly starting to take down some of her social media accounts. I hate that this happened, but on the 8th December 2020, Box passed away.

Happy Birthday to Box. Our hearts are broken that you aren't here to celebrate. We hope you enjoy the celebration of your life we have planned. I'll make sure mum pops Alani's birthday hat on for you. It's been the hardest time without you. Happy birthday angel, ily ❤

@muchawesomewow Becca always used to joke about how she'd end up married to Buster, our childhood cat. He died some years ago now. I like to think that they've found each other and are keeping each other company. She's missed so much 💔

@Michael49735555 She passed away from a pulmonary embolism. Came out of nowhere and was a complete shock to her family and friends.

We all do. As a family we would give anything to have Box back. She was taken far too young at a time she was finding herself and her place in the adult world. RIP Becs. You are so dearly missed 💔😞

Congratulations to Rebecca. At the end of this week, Leeds finally confirmed she would be getting her degree. Thank you to all those who helped and sent well wishes to her family. We're so proud of our Box Bootley and miss her so dearly. Box Bootley, BA History! 🎉🎉

@Gavin20211 It was a shock to everyone. She was in the middle of her usual daily activities when she took a turn. We all miss her wit and sense of humour so much.

@Ryost67Ryost Alani is safe, well-loved and living with Box's mum. He was such a big part of her life, he would have always have been taken in by one of her family members. Too many memories of Box in one little cat 💔

@Mortalevil It's her next of kin's decision. We aren't ready to take them down yet anyway, but regardless, Box wouldn't want the accounts sat here unused. It's cruel to her grieving family to recieve notifications to these accounts and it hurts. When her mum's ready, the account is closed.

If you could ask for an update on the award of Rebecca Batey's degree, it would mean the world to her grieving friends and family. If you'd like to share any memories or ask about Box's final moments, please DM her and her family will respond.

Please no harrassment or threats. It's the last thing Box would want. We just want them to see how beloved she was and what getting her degree would mean to her, her followers and her family.

If Box meant something to you, you could help her out. The University of Leeds are delaying awarding her posthumous degree. She loved studying history and her time there and it feels like a huge betrayal to her memory. If you could please tweet/email them to put pressure on them
