@js_avvamericano Poorly managed from a player standpoint, although they have been much better in recent years. But the Dolans have actually created a lot of shareholder value.

If NBA expansion teams really go for $7B–$10B each, $MSGS at roughly $8B EV makes even less sense. The Knicks and Rangers are established franchises in New York with built-in fan bases, history, and scarcity value. With all due respect to Seattle, an expansion team there should not be anywhere near Knicks territory.

@BenHorney And Anyone with $316 can buy a piece of the @nyknicks & @NYRangers at a lower valuation than what a billionaire will be buying one of the expansion teams for via $MSGS...although courtside seats are not included (but daily liquidity is!).

Also seems wild that an expansion team could be worth as much as the Lakers, which are just as iconic as the Knicks with more historic success. And it makes you get why Glen Taylor tried to clawback his $1.2B Timberwolves sale. Team valuations are reaching unfathomable levels.

If NBA expansion teams really go for $7B–$10B each, $MSGS at roughly $8B EV makes even less sense. The Knicks and Rangers are established franchises in New York with built-in fan bases, history, and scarcity value. With all due respect to Seattle, an expansion team there should not be anywhere near Knicks territory.

Interesting. If this is true the expansion fee evenly split between all teams would be between $467 million to $667 million. This also helps demonstrate the scarcity value of each team. Quite bullish for $MSGS.

Just in: The NBA will hold a vote at the Board of Governors meetings March 24-25 to explore adding expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, with the two franchises targeted for the 2028-29 season, sources tell ESPN. There is momentum for stakeholders to approve surveying what industry executives project will be bids in the $7-to-$10 billion range for each team.
