We were 14th in the Prem when we battered them. Same position you’re In. We are just the more elite club. Simple as that.

This is why it’s a travesty we didn’t get the Conference spot. Most of the teams in this competition are a significant level lower to the Premier League. Hence why we’ve seen PL teams do so well. Beat Larnaca and they’re in the quarter finals. But Palace don’t care, and nor would we. It’s a trophy. A reminder that we finished 8th last season, which would have been good enough if City (or the ref) did their job in the final.
