So much of modern video game discourse makes sense when you realise it is coming from people who don’t actually play video games.

@BillyM2k The left uses words as weapons. They will gladly say contradictory things as long as both of those things are against your interest. This does not bother them at all.

@astewart42 @CryptoMikli Well, I don't know HIS solution, but I know ONE solution, and that is: Free up supply of units by deporting 20 million illegals.

Caleb Hammer explains why rent control doesn’t work “It’s one of those policies that sounds really good and really moral. You want to support it, landlords make less money and people pay less rent. But everywhere it’s been enacted, permitting has dropped significantly, and rents have gone up even faster for the average person, except for the few lucky ones in subsidized housing” “Units go untouched and aren’t maintained at all. I think something like 10-20% of rent controlled units in New York are empty because they can’t be brought up to standard, since it’s not worth investing in. In Massachusetts, rent control was a complete disaster and had to be repealed. In San Francisco, the moment they introduced it, permitting dropped. It just hasn’t worked”

"Talarico is how we imagine Christians to be. His simple message of loving everyone and having compassion resonates very well with us." Yes, that's the problem. This is not a Christian message, and you imagined it was because you don't read the Bible or study what it says. "Simple message." Exactly. It is a watered-down phony message. Thousands of Christian leaders over centuries have expounded the tremendous depth and intricacies of the faith with great wisdom and effort, but people like you don't read any of that, and all of that goes right out the window in favor of this superficial sham Christianity that has no substance and just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. "Just be nice and make people happy!" is about the farthest thing possible from what the Bible actually teaches, but you wouldn't know that because, like you yourself said, you barely even read it. You like it precisely because it is not Christian. Do you really think the people of Jesus' day wanted Him dead because he preached love and acceptance? Do you really think that a message of "be nice to everyone" was so insanely radical for the time the people wanted Him killed over it? If Jesus actually preached this "love and acceptance" message that people like you espouse, He would have been crowned king by the people and they would have loved Him. But they didn't love Him. Thousands of people wanted Him dead for His message. Yes, He was loving and compassionate, but it was real love, not this fake, phony leftist love. It was the kind of love that told people to their faces that they were sinners and they needed to repent. The kind of love that admonished bad behavior and called it out for what it was. The kind of love that told people the truth, that their sin was leading them to destruction and they needed a savior. The kind of love that would make leftists like you cry for His death too, because it made you uncomfortable. We all saw how the people Talarico courts reacted to Charlie Kirk's death. Make no mistake, I do not want to compare Kirk to Christ; Kirk was a fallible man guilty of sin like all of us are, and he is not even remotely comparable to the glory of our Lord. But like Jesus, Charlie simply spoke the truth. He called sin out for what it was, and told people that they needed to stop and repent. And his message was so reviled by people that he was murdered for it. And you people cheered for it. So spare us this absolute nonsense of "loving" Christianity. You haven't the faintest idea of what love even is, much less what is evidence of it. You people praise Talarico and other false teachers like him precisely because you don't know the Bible, you've never read it, and you can't see the obvious wolves in your midst galavanting around in sheep's clothing. May I suggest actually cracking open that book sometime? Study it for once in your life. Then repent of your sin and turn away from these false teachers.
VBM@VBMillennial

Yes many of us aren't hardcore practicing Christians, or were raised non religious, and we don't know the Bible closely. There are many many many of us who are like this. For people like us, Talarico is how we imagine Christians to be. His simple message of loving everyone and having compassion resonates very well with us. We are sick and tired of people who claim to know Jesus well and who claim to know the Bible well, and who have been trying for decades to remove separation between Church and State and turn America into some Christian theocracy with their style of "my way or burn in hell" rhetoric. We know that you all don't agree with Talarico and frankly we don't care. He is our idea of an ideal Christian and we are happy with that.

"We do not start our Christian lives by working out our faith for ourselves; it is mediated to us by Christian tradition, in the form of sermons, books and established patterns of church life and fellowship. We read our Bibles in the light of what we have learned from these sources; we approach Scripture with minds already formed by the mass of accepted opinions and viewpoints with which we have come into contact, in both the Church and the world… It is easy to be unaware that it has happened; it is hard even to begin to realize how profoundly tradition in this sense has molded us. But we are forbidden to become enslaved to human tradition, either secular or Christian, whether it be "catholic" tradition, or "critical" tradition, or "ecumenical" tradition. We may never assume the complete rightness of our own established ways of thought and practice and excuse ourselves the duty of testing and reforming them by Scriptures." - J. I. Packer, Fundamentalism and the Word of God.

Starfield's composer is delusional, the game will NEVER be "legendary" and Todd Howard is a fucking hack. Everyone at Bethesda needs to stop with this bullshit of "Oh, you just weren't ready for it." Ready for what mother fucker? An empty universe with some of the shittiest writing you'll ever see? Yeah, no, you're right, I guess most people weren't ready for it to be that fucking bad.

Transhumanists would rather fill the world with these nightmarish abominations than accept the fact that their morality is fundamentally flawed. There is NOTHING morally wrong with slaughtering animals. Livestock can be raised and slaughtered 100% humanely. They can live happy, healthy lives, and have painless, stress-free deaths. I know this for a fact, as that's how we do it on our farm. In nature, prey animals depend on predators to keep their numbers in check, and prevent them from destroying their own environment and, thus, themselves through overpopulation. In ethical animal husbandry, humans have simply taken on the role of a supremely benevolent apex predator that grants their "prey" lives and deaths that are far, FAR better than those their wild counterparts get to experience. Thus, converting wilderness to farms already results in a HUGE decrease of animal suffering, and on truly ethical farms, animals don't suffer at all. Hence, I believe pushing for cruelty-free farming is a much better and healthier strategy than trying to spawn horrific, brainless flesh robots in an effort to solve a non-existent moral problem.
Kai Micah Mills@kaimicahmills

the ultimate solution is through technology we engineer what has been called a bodyoid: brainless animal bodies that provide as much meat as we desire without harming any sentient beings this would transform medicine - the same platform would allow us to grow organs on demand, eliminate transplant waiting lists, and produce perfectly matched tissues for each patient experimental therapies could be tested on full biological systems without involving conscious animals, regenerative medicine would accelerate as entire replacement tissues become manufacturable in the same way that agriculture turned food from a scarce resource into an abundant one, engineered bodyoids would turn biological material into infrastructure - meat without slaughter, organs without donors, and medical research without sentient suffering

This is why boomers are so insufferable and stupid. They took our culture for granted. Boomers grew up in an insulated world, sheltered from the horrific cruelty of humanity their entire lives, to the point that they literally cannot even comprehend that something like this even could happen, let alone happen in their country. They grew up in countries where, in theory, their governments were benevolent and worked towards the good of the people, where journalists were interested in exposing corruption and "getting the truth out," where the police would do their due diligence to catch the bad guys and uphold justice, and where they could trust their neighbors and countrymen to all be working towards the common good. They grew up in this and took it all for granted. They are fish who do not recognize the water they swim in, because it is all they've known. They thought this was the default, that this was just how things were, and the stories of horror and cruelty from overseas were just fairy-tales from a bygone era where people didn't know any better. Not us, though! We've moved past that! We're "enlightened!" That could never happen to us! There's a deeper meaning to this though beyond simple insulation and prosperity. This is a theological problem. What boomers like Bear Grylls don't understand is that the western world is extremely Christian. Yes, it's certainly not like that now, but it started that way. Britain, France, Spain, the United States, these are all deeply Christian countries with Christian roots dating back for over a millennium Our culture, our history, our background is all uniquely Christian. This was our default, but it is not the default of humanity. Look at other non-Christian countries and see how they operate. Even "developed" countries. China treats people as expendable cogs in a machine. You are worked to death and enslaved. They would literally rather install netting on the sides of buildings to prevent workers from jumping to their deaths than ever consider improving working conditions. India has no morality besides "win at all costs." Murder, theft, and rape are the order of the day, and the only "morality" is whether you win or lose. The ends justify the means. As long as you win, nothing else matters. The middle east and Africa also treat people are mere tools to be exploited. Child soldiers, suicide bombers, human trafficking, what does it matter? They're just things and we're using them to benefit ourselves. These countries are the default state of humanity without God. People often read the Old Testament and say "man, the God of the OT is so vicious and cruel! He orders genocide and annihilation! He sounds so evil!" Except these countries that God orders the destruction of are so wicked and sinful, if you saw them, you'd want to nuke them from orbit too. You think Epstein was a fluke? Some special case of uniquely depraved evil? No. Epstein is the default. Evil is the default for humanity. This is the depravity of humanity when left to our own devices. Jeremiah 17:9 ESV The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Our countries worked tirelessly for over a thousand years trying to combat this default state of humanity, fostering a culture of biblical values. Loving your neighbor, goodwill to all, being good stewards, charity to the poor and the widow, all of these are uniquely Christian concepts. The entire concept of "human rights" is a Christian one, that man is made in the image of God and thus deserves special treatment. And now that we've abandoned Christianity, the cracks are starting to show, and we cannot believe our eyes. We took our culture for granted and now we literally cannot fathom the depths of evil that humanity can sink to. This is the ultimate sin of the boomers. This is why they don't believe you when you tell them these things. They took our culture for granted. We cannot make the same mistake.
Bear Grylls OBE@BearGrylls

Is this really happening in our country??? Surely the Police are onto this now??
