I'm not usually comfortable taking pictures with witnesses, but I'll make an exception today. Gen Mkhwanazi, on behalf of families affected by drugs, communities ravaged by gun violence, and a country crippled by crime, I say THANK YOU 🙏 #AdHocCommittee" #iamactionsa

"Clint Eastwood, 94-year-old vegan actor legend, formulated one of the most important lessons of his life so far for the young generation: ""Don't look for luxury in watches or bracelets, don't look for luxury in villas or sailboats! Luxury is laughter and friends, luxury is rain on your face, luxury is hugs and kisses. Don't look for luxury in shops, don't look for it in gifts, don't look for it in parties, don't look for it in events! Luxury is being loved by people, luxury is being respected, luxury is having your parents alive, luxury is being able to play with your grandchildren. Luxury is what money can't buy."" Linux has hundreds of trusted commands but the moment an attacker gets in, those same commands can be turned against you. One of the most used is ls, a harmless file listing tool… until it’s replaced. Hackers often create their own custom ls binary that silently logs every folder you open. While you think you’re just checking a directory, the backdoored ls is quietly sending that info to a remote server or writing it to a hidden log. In the first terminal, the user (server02@kali) is casually using ls to check their Documents, Finance, and Projects folders. Everything looks normal but behind the scenes, the command is not what it seems. The attacker (me) had earlier replaced the legitimate /bin/ls with a modified version that duplicates its output while also exfiltrating the filenames and timestamps. It’s a perfect example of living-off-the-land: using expected commands to perform unexpected surveillance. In the second terminal, the attacker (winston@kali) watches logs from the backdoored ls. Every time the victim runs it, the attacker receives a timestamped list of accessed directories. The victim is unaware.
