Keeping fit is one of the many referees duties we need to stay on top of. It does not have to be that arduous 😥 enough to get through our games. ⚽️ 15 mins on the tread mill - aerobic x3 ⚽️ 10 mins on the climber - strengthening x3 #referee #football #fitness

The feeling of really sore muscles after a few games that have pushed you to your limits. Know the feeling. Today I had another deep tissue massage. Thank you Gilly. ⚽️Glutes ⚽️ Hamstrings ⚽️ Calves #Referees #massage #bracknell #agony #relief

bbc.co.uk/sport/football… How does football refereeing recover from this? What a mess. Don’t think we have heard the end of this. It will be interested to see what the World Cup can learn from this debacle. Makes some of my mistakes pale into the insignificance. #refereeing

A huge thank you to Steve Parkinson for coming to our AR meet-up last night. Steve took us through his training regime, how he considers his positioning and what to consider as part of your pre match analysis. Great session with plenty of key takeaways. #referee #football

Referee positioning. When the ball goes wide on the non AR side, we are expected to go wide too. Get into a great position and have a good angle. The image highlights the shaded Zone A. We are not expected to stand in Zone A. Track play rather than follow play from behind.

A great evening with Simon Parbery. He focused on the importance of team communication. A key AR takeaway. ⚽️ Fouls are subjective don’t involve yourself if it’s obvious to you and you are not credible. ⚽️ Even if you are 40 metres away you must flag for violent conduct

Following on from the last refereeing positioning post. The ABCD rule. As the ball moves across the pitch, we are expected to move across. From zone B to C. Keep up with play. 📐45 degree angle to the player ⚽️ 20 metre distance from the player/ball Anything to add?

Was introduced to the ABCD rule recently when it comes to referee positioning. In the example below, the ball is in one half, the referee in the other. We will assume all players have shifted up. B is the perfect position. Drift into C when the ball moves. More pics to follow.

Some interesting items on IFAB’s ABM agenda, taking place tomorrow in London. Here is the agenda. Possible sanctions for taking too long with throw-ins and goal kicks is how I’m reading point 3. #ifab #footballlaws #Football

@HarrowReferee Any chance Peter would be able to attend one of Bracknell’s RA meetings. It would great if you could provide us with contact details to see if this might work for Peter. Thank you Dylan.

Goalkeepers can play without gloves. Nothing in the LOTG that states they must wear them. Law 4 - player equipment. Have you ever seen a goalie without gloves post the 1980s🧤? #gloves #football #lotg

93% of English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 referees have been verbally abused, compared with 51% of Dutch 🇳🇱 referees* *Yellow and Red podcast survey 21/22. Wonder what that stat is now for this season 25/26 since the introduction of the sin bin. Is it more or less verbal abuse towards referees?
