Given the lack of enthusiasm yesterday, it’s clear a “No Kings” protest movement would have been much more effective during the 2021 reign of terror by paternalistic and power obsessed politicians who tormented Americans.

@weather_katie @kilmarnok1285 I just saw stuff abt this, specifically laying off the entire dpt at WTVA in Tupelo. I lived there for years & was acquainted with a couple of the people there. Matt Laughban came after I moved away, but my friends there highly respect his work, especially severe weather coverage

@kilmarnok1285 Thankfully I wasn't impacted directly, but I think this may spell doom for the broadcast meteorology profession. When one does it, others will surely follow.

I cannot accurately express how awful this week has been for me. I'm going to bed and hope whatever horrors tomorrow holds will kindly stay far away from me.

The largest concern of all is that the ban can be shoved into a humanitarian bill & passed without debate on the merits of it. Disgusting way to treat our 1st Amendment rights. Congress doesn’t listen. We know you don’t listen & we now know u don’t care about anything but power

Ruining business and livelihoods of millions of Americans is more of concern to this nation than the American owned data (yes, TT’s American data is owned and housed here in the good ol US of A).

I might have abandoned this platform, but I realize that Congress is around. This #Tiktokban is garbage and should be removed immediately. You are ruining the incomes of 7 million small businesses and in total $24 BILLION that the app added to the GDP.

5 years For 5 years I've worked to grow my TikTok following to share meteorology with the people of the world. 476,900 followers now, just, gone. TikTok gave my voice a world stage to spread knowledge. Now it looks like it's going to die, along with all of my hard work...

TROPICS: Hurricane Rafael, with sustained winds of 120 mph, is about 585 miles east of the southern tip of Texas in the Gulf of Mexico this morning. It is moving to the west at 9 mph. The latest NHC forecast shows slow weakening, and a full loop in the middle of the Gulf over the next five days. Rafael is then forecast to dissipate over the southwest Gulf by the middle of next week without making landfall.

I woke up because my curiosity needed to know and I hate what I see. Last time Trump won, I urged people to worry less about him and do the small things to make their homes a better place to live. I still believe in that, but I do fear this term more
