What she did to Georgia was wrong, full stop. But let’s be honest: if Georgia had done the exact same thing to Riley, the outrage wouldn’t be anywhere near what we’re seeing right now. It’s really sad to see racism creeping into the #NextGenNYC conversation. She’s 23 years old and won’t turn 24 until the end of the summer. At that age, a lot of us made mistakes and acted immaturely…we just didn’t have cameras documenting every moment. Hold her accountable for what she did, absolutely. But extend her some grace, too. Growth comes from being held accountable, not from endless hate. None of us are perfect.
