@DanielR00191707 @Hollerite @femfederation That would make sense, as the IJN modelled itself the Royal Navy in its infancy, but in this case the FN navy’s usage during the hundred year war better matches the IJN
That doesn’t mean the FN is solely Japanese, it draws heavy inspiration from China and Thailand as well
English

@Brax7878 @Hollerite @femfederation That’s not Japanese culture though
All of this also matches the British. But people think of the IJA first and not the British navy because the fire nation physically looks Asian lol
English

The fire nation having a vacation island where they larp the native culture is actually the most Japanese thing ever
Cüneyt@Cuneyt_S_Sevi
Really dislike how a lot of fanworks and official media alike tend to remove the Fire Nation's more SEA influences in favor of making them just "Fantasy Japan"
English

@DanielR00191707 @Hollerite @femfederation It’s more than that, they’re also similar in them both being imperialistic island nations that operate incredibly dominant navies that massively outclass their peers in size and technology,
The IJN was considered the first modern navy in Asia, and the FN mirrors that in ATLA
English

@Brax7878 @Hollerite @femfederation Are the ship designs Japan inspired?
It seems like the similarity is just “has a navy”
English

@Hollerite @femfederation I know the armor was more Japanese in the early drafts
But I actually can’t think of any Japanese culture shown in the final draft. Other than some names
English

@NocturneBlot Finding good Maiko is pretty hard in the first place, it’s almost always a background pairing or plot device to stop Zuko from getting with someone else
English

@zweiwalker89607 The same novel that had Anakin dropping one liners and quips while slaughtering the Separatist council

Someone pull out the exerpt from the Revenge of the Sith novel

All this shows is that Zuko - after learning from the dragons - could only stalemate an Azula who had already began to noticeably change her fighting style due to her mental decline-? 😭
Darth Shinobi@christ621ml
"Azula was mentally unstable when she fought zuko" — Meanwhile Post Dragon Dance zuko vs Stable Azula 🤷🏼♂️😂

@lurk1911 @TwinklyBlood It’d be less painful than spending another day among these animals….
English

@Brax7878 @TwinklyBlood Griffonstone? Damn, if I lived there I’d have killed myself by now

I have an appointment with the Chiropterran
Wocks 🏴@Wocks_
americans be like "i have an appointment with the chiropractor.😃" 😂😂💀
English

@himefujoism @certeries Idk but his behavior in the comics lacks a lot of sensibility
English

What @certeries forgot to mention is that Azula never received any support from ANYONE, not even Zuko. Azula is the one who should cutt them all off btw. THEY failed her and not the opposite.

English

@Brax7878 @TwinklyBlood Not good enough for them, I can get in though, to find a certain somepony
English

Azula discourse is so annoying, you’ll have people looking at her like she’s the literal embodiment of all that’s evil in the world vs others claiming that she’s pretty much unaccountable for her actions, there’s no middle ground

@ElTrash_Art6 You claim you don't like any content with underage minors then how do you explain these? They Sweetie Bell is a minor...

English

Hi, @BloodSpryte. Could you please remove me from that list?
I am completely against any content involving underage characters; I find it disgusting. Please unfollow me and remove me from that list. Thank you ^^

@AviorAB @cogito_yuri He’s probably projecting, being that he himself was once a “misguided” older brother with a scheming younger sibling
English

@cogito_yuri He’s treating her like he treats Ozai, which he shouldn’t since Ozai is an old man who knows right from wrong and Azula is an indoctrinated child soldier after her father’s love
English

This is a great line if we understand Iroh as an (extremely) flawed character. Unfortunately the show largely positions him as its moral center.
