Pope has the money that he could’ve spent on stokes I know we have missed on several dudes but if he can get some solid players around the world or something then think we should be fine but I hate how some of the fanbase was giving McBride crap and I like the pick up that was a solid pick up for pope like he’s a mean player and that’s what we have been missing last year was some toughness if pope can find some more tough players then I can give him a B for a grade and just see how the season plays out when October and November hits.

FWIW, I think Marcio Santos would be a good addition for Kentucky as a big man piece. He plays in the Euro Super League (better than college basketball) and is productive and older. He is solid Kentucky still needs (at least) one more really good player. I hope they find him

NEW: James Madison transfer guard Justin McBride is set to visit Kentucky on Tuesday, per reports. The 6’7 junior averaged 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds this past season. Shot 40% from the three. Saw a massive jump this year. Averaged 7.8 points at Nevada as a sophomore.

Since stokes commit to Kansas I still think that getting McBride is a big pick up for pope I had a feeling when McBride committed then we wouldn’t get stokes it’s still a big pick up but losing stokes is a big loss for pope and he has to hunt hard in the portal.

Kentucky still gonna do big things! Pope did well on the recruitment end. Stokes is a big miss but we got that money to spend on someone else. Let’s do this.

@KySportsRadio Pope said he was considering GM in the welcome home press conference and yet he still has one.

I think there is a chance that at some point in the near future, there will be a push within UK to force Mark Pope to hire a GM, whether he wants one or not

There are a few players out there and one specifically that I think would be a better fit for Pope than Stokes, but once again… the PR couldn’t be worse. And it’s hard to find confidence that they can land one of those guys anyways.

Mark Pope has proven he can win big games over the last couple seasons, not many coaches have more ranked wins. But the gap has been landing top-end talent, and it’s shown up in some tough losses. I really hope he puts it all together. Now where do the Cats pivot?

Kentucky waited a long time to try and get Stokes…passed on giving money on some targets in order to grab him It didn’t work out and he went way it looked like he would for some time. Kentucky needs to find a replacement that is very talented and the options aren’t plentiful

Tyran Stokes commits to Kansas, as expected. Hindsight is 20/20, but Kentucky not pivoting when he didn’t commit in October was a mistake. Stokes had every right to wait, but you shouldn't have put yourself in the position where one recruit defines your entire HS class.

Kentucky has added forwards Justin McBride. I really like his game and especially when you already have Ousmane N'Diaye. Solid addition!
