@Engr_Jonson @PeteThamel I don’t disagree. I think coaching malpractice has been an issue as well.
English

@BraydenSommer @PeteThamel You're right—the portal is a 24/7 monster. But a GM is nit really the big deal for me. Memphis has the talent every year; the issue has been cohesion.
English

@Engr_Jonson @PeteThamel You can’t really say that when they were a 5 seed just last season. Most well run programs have a GM on staff. Not enough hours in the day for a coach to be a coach and keep up with the portal.
English

@PeteThamel You don't hire a GM unless the current "power structure" is broken. They’re basically admitting the last 8 years of roster management was a mess.
English

@MartySullivan10 @antwann2636 Come on Bro…you know that’s not true
English

@Orolxcr @kendricdavisfan Bro just lost to old dominion in a bowl today
English

@kendricdavisfan Memphis is so pussy horrible city with zero culture. Your never making it to a power conference as long as Memphis exist.
English

Charles Huff to Memphis seems likely, I'd love that hire for the Tigers.
Pete Nakos@PeteNakos
Memphis has focused on Southern Miss' Charles Huff as its next head coach, sources tell @clowfb, @Brett_McMurphy and me for @on3. The two parties are working to finalize a deal. Huff went 7-5 in his first year with the Golden Eagles, a season after the program went 1-11. on3.com/news/memphis-f…

@ruahogfan2_ @JTStacy @RSilverfield @MemphisFB Memphis fans loved Ryan Silverfield the guy, couldn’t ask for a better guy. Ryan Silverfield the coach is a different story. No reason Memphis shouldn’t compete for conference championships every season, and that falls on him. Hope the best for him, but glad he’s gone.
English

@JTStacy @RSilverfield @MemphisFB Memo to every recruit. The fan above loved this coach or he wouldn't be so upset. Memphis, unfortunately, is a stepping stone to bigger programs with higher incomes. Coach Silverfield never had a losing record in 6 years at Memphis and that IS commitment to excellence.
English

@MemphisHomer @kendricdavisfan I don’t believe it’s “bad luck” for 6 years. There’s a reason he never got over the hump. Nothing against him, he’s not a bad coach, but the standard was set at very the minimum making the conference championship.
English

@BraydenSommer @kendricdavisfan Dude y’all literally crucified this man like he didn’t do nothing because of a few crazy bad luck moments and act like his teams weren’t hard to beat if you beat them. Every coach can’t say that. You had to jump on Memphis from the start and pray the rest of the game.
English

@MemphisHomer @kendricdavisfan You’re right, they may win 8-9 games a year, but they’ll never sniff a conference championship. Great culture builder I guess?Even though the culture was already built, but absolutely horrible big game executer.
English

@kendricdavisfan Common Sense. Arkansas will be a 8-9 win team at least almost every season under him. Y’all can try to print Silverfield as a Poodle like Pastner. That man is a Rottweiler
English

@Frisbie_Hendrix @AnthonyBetss @cpkorn12 As it would be for any Ole Miss coach that had that opportunity.
English

@AnthonyBetss @cpkorn12 No we can’t because if he cared like he said he did, he would tell them to contact him when his seasons over. He didn’t which tells you taking the LSU job was more important to him.
English

@TomShankz @BigBadBumgarner Silverfield will win games, but was never able to win the games that mattered. I don’t think he’s a bad coach, but there’s no excuse in 6 seasons to not even make a conference championship with the resources available at Memphis.
English

@BraydenSommer @BigBadBumgarner Idk man where was the state of Memphis football before him? Like Memphis had a name but was never really relevant like that. Wild to celebrate somebody leaving when you gotta start the whole process over again 🤷🏾♂️
English

@TomShankz @BigBadBumgarner Brother Ryan silverfield is not even close to being the best thing that’s happen to Memphis football
English

@BigBadBumgarner Lol ok 👍🏾 dude was the best thing to happen to Memphis football and yall celebrating 🤣😂
English

@BoneyardPodcast Maybe if it was still 2015, but with NIL & the portal, my guess is it’s gonna be just as competitive
