In NFL terms, I really like the Steelers, my Mrs is from there, I’ve been there multiple times but I can never and will never claim to have the same connection as someone born in Pittsburgh

@femooafc @Wes_AFC @nufcpb I'm not saying people can't choose to support the teams. They can choose whoever they want. But the huge majority of people supporting teams outside of where they are from or who their family supports, are glory hunters

We used to watch the games whenever we could (hard in the US in those days). I've been supporting them for 20 years. I didn't choose them "on a whim", I grew up with it.

@Bren_Capstaff @femooafc @nufcpb We “glory hunt” because when we were kids the most we got was highlights of the big six and that was it we didn’t get championship games covered so invalidating it by calling it glory hunting is just wrong

There's nothing wrong with it. I support the Denver Broncos for no other reason than they were the team I fancied

@Bren_Capstaff @nufcpb but they aren't acting like they are connected to the area. in fact, I'd say it's even harder to be a foreign dan because thereare no real environmental factors that makes the expeierence more enjoyable bar individual effort to feel it I just don't like how they are underminded

@femooafc @nufcpb No, theyre still a fan, they have a connection to the club, and fair play to anyone thats willing to travel to see us. But the point is they dont have the connection to the area too. The whole area feels more alive when the club is doing well

@Bren_Capstaff @nufcpb Nobody is saying the feeling is the same. But I'll argue, you also have no idea what that person who lives 2000 miles away, but spent their life savings to travel to celebrate with you guys at the parade who could just catch a bus. Is that persons connect invalid?
