@CMDeDominicis Complete with being snake-bitten on a glorious chance in front. Great game otherwise. So, basically, his standard performance.

Guentzel scores on Point feed...Top corner shot. Krebs couldn't get the puck out at the line. Tuch wondered if the puck got out of the zone. #Sabres and #TBLightning tied 2-2 at 3:56 of the 2nd

@LLysowski Hopefully Coop levels the playing field and opts to roll out his 7th and 9th best defensemen, respectively, out of sympathy.

Did Lightning coach Jon Cooper learn anything about the Sabres in the last chaotic meeting between these two teams?

@23sabres I think we need a Kesselring chant in the arena. It seemed to be effective w/ Metsa, but this time we're going to need it to achieve the seemingly impossible... free Kess from Lindy's doghouse. This is the only thing I think Lindy has gotten wrong this season, but it's a big one.

Byram/UPL are current team examples imo of guys who struggled to start but were given every chance to prove themselves because the team recognized that they’re better when those 2 are on I just don’t know why that was not the same energy with Kesselring, fighting injuries too

The Kesselring situation bugs me because I thought he was finally starting to turn a corner I understand switching for Metsa occasionally, but for Timmins/Schenn is ridiculous Sure Schenn fights, so did Kesselring against Tampa

@2Goalies1Mic I don't want to be unfair to tonight's 3rd pair because it's not their fault that they're limited & being put into an impossible position (or that it's a lightning rod & fans are upset). But, to borrow a Lindy line, what has occurred with Kesselring "is a joke, an absolute joke."

Even with no Brandon Hagel, will we see a repeat from March 8th? Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn are both in the lineup to beef up the blue line and add some muscle in case things do get greasy Puck Drop tonight at 7PM

@BoltsJolts @unbiasednhlfan @jongeorgemusic What the hell is Corey Perry’s geriatric ass going to do to anyone? That aside, my favorite part has to be this homer justifying repeated sucker punches to the back of a guy’s head as somehow justified or “push back” for this mysterious thing Dahlin did that only TBL fans saw.

A LOT of Sabres fans wanting their players to injure Kucherov tonight because they are angry that Hagel pushed back on their coward of a captains bullshit last game. It’s amusing because they don’t seem to understand how that plays out.

@SabresProspects Can we please get an emergency pod to exclusively discuss the wrongful imprisonment of Michael Kesselring? This has gotten to the point where there absolutely has to be more to this story. He isn’t being held to remotely the same standards as the other 4 3rd pair options.

@ByTimGraham Tim, as WNY’s most intrepid and resourceful sports journalist, I was wondering if you could possibly run down whose family member Kesselring insulted to garner this sort of treatment from the team, and earn being held to a different standard than all the other 3rd pair options?

@TBNSports It would be great if the Sabres had a defenseman in his prime who could bring this sort of physicality, size, and toughness, while also being able to skate, keep pace, and play hockey. … Oh, wait, they do, and the team bizarrely hasn’t let him see the light of day in a month.

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Luke Schenn brings a physicality that will be necessary as the Sabres prepare for their final five regular-season games, beginning Monday against Tampa Bay and continuing into the Stanley Cup playoffs. buffalonews.com/sports/profess…

@ByMHarrington The most absurd part of this (apparent staff/GM hatred/blindness toward # 8 aside) is the league almost certainly has warned the teams that it’s closely monitoring this game. So the Sabres are deploying their aircraft carriers on skates for a donnybrook that likely won’t happen.

You might be playing them in a 7–game series. Messages are getting sent both ways. There’s a game within the game.

@ByMHarrington What a terrible misunderstanding of what’s important. They’d rather bring a fight to an important game than a good team. Sad for the fans

@pham1717 Questions virtually everyone in Buffalo would like answered: 1) is Kesselring hurt? 2) (if no) why is Kesselring seemingly held to a different standard than all other 3rd pair D options (none have given any offense, & most don’t offer anywhere near the physicality/skating as 8)?

@HBonHB @JacobTrost_ @MatthewFairburn Why are the standards so different for him? Setting aside the injury problems, why is it okay that Stanley and Metsa never score (and Metsa literally never hits anyone), but we need Kesselring to play like a top-pair D to earn more playing time? Now Schenn gets time over him too.

@Brendan_Conley1 @JacobTrost_ @MatthewFairburn I just think there's too much being made about Kesselring being scratched. He has no goals and 2 assists in 32 games and he has less than a hit a game. He's had 32 chances to show he deserves to play and he really hasn't

Sounds like the Logan Stanley-Luke Schenn pair is in for the Sabres tonight. Lindy Ruff said Buffalo needs some more hardness in front of the net.

@JacobTrost_ @HBonHB @MatthewFairburn To be clear, my point isn’t about hits. It’s about Kesselring being a far superior and more complete hockey player than Schenn, Stanley, Metsa, and Timmins. I’m simply saying if physicality is the order of the day, you’d also get plenty of that with him, and he can skate, too.

@ByMHarrington Except that there’s a far tougher guy than Metsa - who is also a complete hockey player - who hasn’t seen the ice in a month (and ostensibly won’t play again tonight). That’s the part that’s impossible to reconcile for any objective observers of the situation.

@HBonHB @MatthewFairburn Yep, playing injured at that point, but sure. Stanley has 109 in 81 games (not exactly Scott Stevens). How many does Metsa have? And I’m not even sure it’s worth asking about Schenn because he can’t even catch up with anyone much less effectively line them up at this point.

@pham1717 Paul, do you think the coaches (and/or GM, because honestly something isn’t quite adding up here) recall that Kesselring is 6’5” and hits and fights (about as frequently as Stanley) but can also actually skate, pass, shoot, and play up tempo hockey? Why is 64/8 never an option?
