I’m about to pay R26.63 a litre because someone decided to start an unnecessary war to cover up his sexual crimes. 😒

@TrueAlkebulan @talkcentss Lack of growth is policy driven not driven by the reserve bank, excess borrowing and money printing is ruling parties lack of investment in infrastructure, BEEand the R200 000 toilet seat scenarios is what drives borrowing. The government needsto get out of the way of the economy

@BrettDBarnard @talkcentss Government can't borrow or Print money without permission from the Reserve Banking in any way. Inflation is caused by the Rand losing value due to Rand Demand & Supply, and a lack of new wealth creation.

@TrueAlkebulan @talkcentss Fiscal and political policy is what has driven inflation, Reserve bank tries to keep inflation in check via interest rates.

@talkcentss The South African Reserve Bank has been instrumental in facilitating wealth transfer from poor to rich whenever a Western puppet is president of South Africa: Mandela Mbeki Motlanthe Ramaphosa

@godblesstoto Always tickles me that right wingers imagine themselves to be edgy anti-establishment types, when in fact they are basically just ignorant, angry and hateful people who worship the rich and the powerful. It’s self delusion on an epic scale.

@EPIKCrypto Yes, every carnivore should personally raise, slaughter and butcher their own cattle in central Manchester. Anything less is fraud.

The cheapest beef in a British supermarket is on a different planet to anything sitting on an American shelf. Here's why. American beef: - 6 growth hormones. Standard. No labelling. - Ractopamine: a muscle-bulking drug. Banned in 168 countries. Legal in the US. - 95% finished in feedlots. Concrete pens, no grass, no movement. - Final months on corn and soya. Stomachs not built for it. - Routine antibiotics on healthy cows. Standard. - Force-fattened to 1,300+ lbs as fast as possible. - Bred for size. The fat is white. It comes from grain. British beef: - Growth hormones banned since 1989. - Ractopamine banned. Imports tested and rejected if traces show up. - Cows live the bulk of their lives on grass. The default, not the premium. - Native breeds. Hereford. Aberdeen Angus. Shorthorn. Galloway. - Routine antibiotics on healthy cows: banned in 2022. - Slower-grown. Slaughtered around 22 months. - The fat is yellow. That's what grass-fed looks like. Omega-3s, vitamin E, the nutrients your body actually wants. Both versions are still elite foods. But there are levels to this.

Did You Know? Starlink gives 1GB of Data at R1. 10 GB of Data at R10. This is a serious threat to MTN, Cell C, Telkom and Vodacom. Remember Gwede Mantashe's son is a chairman of MTN.

@bozzie_t They need to fix the coal fired stations, stop the corruption and build more coal, we have the resources for this. Do what's good for the country not what's on the world net zero agenda.

@RoryDuncan1966 I feel nothing but contempt and disgust for Donald Trump and those who surround the Orange moron. It’s an obscene travesty. 🤮 If you think otherwise, your judgement is impaired.

South Africa is confusing beyond description. We hate our largest trading partner, the USA, where we get most of our foreign currency from and love China who we only import from and sell nearly nothing to. So basically we make forex from trade with USA and spend it in China. Dumb

In what universe is the US South Africa's largest trading partner? Anyway I might just forgive you since you are so old that you might have forgotten to refresh your 'cache of knowledge'!

CREATIVE THEFT - STEALING THINGS YOU DIDN’T EVEN KNOW YOU COULD STEAL 🇿🇦🇰🇪 Stealing of underground wires is a classic ‘Third Worldism’ - the theft of batteries, wiring, fluids etc. from public electrical infrastructure in order to re-sell it. You have to understand, any infrastructure not locked up is fair game. This kind of theft is very commonplace in places like South Africa, Kenya etc - in the picture below Kenyans siphon off Motor Oil from electrical pylons. Might not even occur to you that the electrical infrastructure ‘just sitting there’ is something you could steal because you generally take it for granted as a part of the human environment that, by default, you afford a certain level of respect to. This is not the case for other groups of people though! South Africa has reported a nearly eight-fold increase in the theft of certain types of cable in recent years. Any kind of electrical infrastructure not guarded at gunpoint can be looted and stripped down - trainlines, traffic lights, cabling, lighting etc. - a lot of things are stolen that it wouldn’t enter your mind could be stolen. As well as contributing towards further ‘enshittification’ so-called replacing this infrastructure often comes at considerable financial cost. Private security is sometimes hired to protect critical infrastructure now Asked some friends from Kenya and South Africa “what are the strangest things you’ve heard being stolen?” • Animals but not just in the regular poaching sense, strange animals like sea lions and penguins as well as pets and farm animals like dogs and ostriches • Pavement tiling • Trees • An entire caravan (detached from connection to electrical, water systems and driven away) • Body parts from cars, fuel from inside fuel tanks • Golf buggies from a golf club, golf clubs • Statues, gravestones • CCTV cameras • Furniture - tables and chairs - from outside a restaurant that wasn’t locked up properly • A meal at a restaurant while the customer was in the bathroom • Clothes while a person was swimming in the sea • An entire corrugated iron shack (dissembled for scrap while owner was away - came back to find patch of dirt where his house used to be) Really creative, imagine the mental space you have to occupy to even conceptualise stealing these kinds of things. Opens new mental vistas about ‘what is possible’
