I'm not interested in South Africa just because it's heartbreaking to watch a nation with so much raw potential get hollowed out, though it is. I’m old enough to remember being told that Iran would make a fortune from the Strait of Hormuz by charging US$2 million per ship for “safe passage.” Some even reached for Clausewitz to dress this up as strategic genius.
