Would be nice if people stopped exaggerating the academic work schedule. The job can vary from tons of free time way under 40 hrs/wk to workaholic tendencies depending on personal choices around how many projects to balance. Some colleagues barely work. Some always work.

During my postdoc I went to a faculty training seminar. There we were told working weekends should be expected as faculty. I asked, but what if you have kids? The speaker responded, “I chose to be childless to dedicate my life to my research” . 🙄 No thanks.

Ungulates on the move rdcu.be/cMZNk @MarleeTucker Examining the evolutionary history of ungulate migration shows that this behaviour has evolved multiple times in response to grassland expansion and increased seasonality of resources.
