Liminal horror going mainstream seems to suggest most people are sensing the spiritual shift we’ve been talking about for years. We are in an in-between period of history right now. The old isn’t quite dead yet but the new hasn’t been fully birthed either. The tension between the two can be felt by everyone.

Frederick Wiseman changed the way we see the world.

From the classrooms of High School to the corridors of Hospital, he turned his camera on the institutions that shape us — inviting us to look closer, sit longer & confront truth with empathy.

May his memory be a blessing.

Wiseman… an uninterrupted streak of curiosity, empathy, wisdom, sharp observation, quiet anger, and edits that cut like a knife - ended only by the reality of living in a human body.

In memory and honor of Frederick Wiseman, who took hold of a still-young format and, guided from the start by an unyielding sense of principle, made a body of work so original, idea-rich, and unified that it seems foreordained—a historic fusion of investigation and the inner life

What is this?! Another incredible “one” has appeared! It has a rhythm and style I’ve never seen before. And yet, it clearly understands "film" and has been meticulously crafted. Throughout my life, I’ve encountered various geniuses that have changed my life, and this work feels like it’s going to be one of those. I’ve already watched the screener 3 times, and I still can’t articulate my thoughts well. Even so, it grips my heart. I can hear the “sound of falling” as the “common sense” of cinema I’ve built over 60 years collapses within me. Since then, the various “sounds of falling” that played throughout the film continue to ring in my head.
