@Moray_Smith Earls Croome circa 10 miles from Prestbury Park. I send a dear friend going photos each year not because we know anything about it but because it raises the Festival excitement levels.
Serious thought. The word "Bazball" has become a distraction. A smokescreen for what we're really watching. Average bowling, reckless batting, terrible catching. It doesn't need a funky label; call it what it is, rank bad cricket.
Nothing mentioned about the Chiesa chant until far left radical activist @TonyEvans92a did his hit piece, now other journalists are all of a sudden realising after all this time, actually, they are now offended too.
Well done Tony, the most joyless of Liverpool fans, in London.
Spin it round: 39 people die in our section in 1985. Fast forward. Juventus have a song starting, 'They're crying in Liverpool...' and ending 'fuck off Liverpool, I'm a drughi now.' I mean, it amazes me you can't see it. Especially with our history. tonyevans92a.substack.com/p/chiesa-song-…
Am I the only one not on crazy pills? It seems obvious to me that Liverpool (club, fans, city) should be more sensitive towards Juventus than any other club. Is there a compelling argument against that? The abuse I've had on every platform has been mindboggling
@ianyoungkop Tbf, had heard him mention it before on a pod when the song was getting traction previously. Couldn't tell you when in the timeline of the song it would be. Think most supporters would be able to see the lighthearted intention, but his points would still be valid for the minority
I had intended to write a round up of stuff that caught my eye in the Premier League’s first weekend, but, after keeping my mouth shut all weekend, I snapped. The Chiesa song. Absolutely tone deaf and pathetic open.substack.com/pub/tonyevans9…
@StanThe5th You didn’t see the Juve fans turn their backs on us when the Kop mosaic said Amicizia. “Crying in Turin” 39 dead. “F off Juve”. We should only ever pay them respect. It’s a total embarrassment. THE worst of the lot.
@ChloeBloxam Hey Chloe. Would love you to discuss the Chiesa song and the fact that its lyrics are so wholly inappropriate given our history. Juve and the 39 people who lost their lives at Heysel deserve so much more. Please get it on your agenda. Amicizia
Remember when Edwin Moses was a sweet hurdling bastard? Motherfucker won 122 races in a row jumping over shit while looking like a founding member of Earth, Wind & Fire. We were witnesses.
Life moves fast.
We stress. We rush. We worry.
But in the end, none of that really matters. What matters is how you live, how you love, how you leave your mark.
One day you are here. The next, you might not be.
So show up. Be kind. Give your best. For them, and for you.
