It took Liverpool fans just eight minutes to fall in love with Diogo Jota. An attempt to explain why that will now last forever as we try to make sense of his unimaginably tragic fate in Zamora, Spain. liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football…

@ptgorst "Today we played. So two days away with the family again. It’s not that we have a holiday whatsoever. "I wish we had a couple more days off at times because I think it works both ways.

"We are not kids. Everyone is an adult." Virgil van Dijk has defended the amount of time off given to Liverpool players by Arne Slot, insisting it is not the cause of this disappointing season. liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football…

If anyone feels like they’ve embarrassed themselves today, don’t worry. I’ve just capsized a kayak two minutes into a two-hour tour and then had be hauled, soaking wet, out of a canal in front of about 50 horrified onlookers. So things could always be worse!!

Rare to see Arne Slot as animated/angry as he was when questioning the awarding of United's second goal today in his post-match press conference. But claiming Liverpool were "the better team" at that time is nonsense. They were all over the shop in that first half.

An 11th league defeat for Liverpool is now their worst since 2014/15 when they limped home under Brendan Rodgers. Gave themselves far too much to do after an abject first half. Didn't smell the blood at 2-2 either, allowed United to drift back into it. liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football…
