The biggest difference I see this year vs. last year's V-shape recovery in the $NDX is that breadth was stronger last and this has been a fairly narrow rip.
Something to be aware of rotation has been swift in 2026.

@mwebster1971 @mwebster1971 is there a follow-through day indicator in the new MarketSurge where it marks it on the chart? If not that would be a great addition

When your working life rewards you, it’s easy to ratchet up the complexity: homes, cars, travel, possessions etc.
I have found that all that complexity comes at the sake of your most fleeting asset: your time. Instead of building things, all of a sudden you’re dealing with minutiae and logistics. Instead of talking mostly to engineers, you’re talking mostly to non-engineers. The building stops…the business of managing self inflicted complexity begins.
It’s worth noting that the best players in the game (Buffett, Elon) have kept their life extremely basic, almost monastic/nomadic, as success ratcheted them ever higher.
I think it’s the biggest secret hiding in plain sight:
When the world upgrades your status, downgrade your complexity.

Financial Independence
This is the objective, measurable milestone
You are financially independent when:
Your investments, savings, or passive income cover your living expenses
You no longer need to work to support your lifestyle
A common framework used here is the 4% rule, which suggests:
If you can safely withdraw ~4% of your portfolio annually to cover expenses, you’ve reached independence
Example:
If you spend $80,000/year, you’d need roughly $2 million invested
At this point, work becomes optional
The less you need, the easier it is to achieve financial independence
