We hosted our annual central IL High Yield Grower dinner last night. Together, we are thoughtfully pushing the boundaries of production agriculture and it’s a great learning opportunity for both us and our customers. Congrats to all our high yield growers!

@NeilWelsh_shop Yes, fungicide was applied at the normal R1 growth stage. This photo was taken on a leaf from the lower canopy on the endrows. Tar spot severity was less in the middle of the field.

Found tar spot near Pawnee, IL on corn in the R5 growth stage. Yield loss could still occur because kernel dry weights are only 65% at R 5.25. Later planted corn will be more susceptible to yield loss if disease progression continues to increase. @BRANDT_co

As planters will be rolling again my mid- week, keep in mind that WATERHEMP is beginning to emerge in Central IL. Some applications of PRE herbicides may require additional chemistries in order to start clean and stay clean.

As temps begin to rise, so does the first flush of summer annual weeds from the soil. Giant Ragweed is one of the most troublesome weeds and is beginning to emerge around central IL. Our team has the solutions to battle these yield robbing weeds.

Stine Seed and UPL announce Motif (mesotrione) herbicide is now available for use in LLGT27 soybeans. Mesotrione and isoxaflutole are the only HPPD herbicides labeled for use in LLGT27 soybeans. stineseed.com/resources/medi…

Lots of anthracnose stalk rot out there. This disease (along with others) has caused corn to die prematurely and is reducing standibility and harvestability. Timely harvest will be key to limit yield loss. @BRANDT_co

Armyworm infestation in alfalfa and grass pastures is picking up here in Central Illinois, causing severe defoliation. Get out and scout those fields now and plan timely insecticide applications. @BRANDT_co

R3 is coming soon to a soybean field near you! Now is the time to tissue test to identify nutrient deficiencies and get them corrected with the fungicide pass to maximize yields in soybean. #Brandt #R3 #Soybean
