About seven years ago, I bit my tongue as my husband did the dumbest thing ever and told his teenage daughter that she could paint their bathroom any color she wanted. And every day since, this bathroom (a bathroom that only a 17-year-old girl could love) has plagued me. This piercing turquoise just leering at me from down the hallway. Awful. I told my husband that the second the boys are gone to college I was painting it. Mostly because, we only have two full bathrooms in this house. Taking one out of commission to paint is a PITA. So I have just been patiently waiting for Fall 2026. God offered me way out! It really is true…Opportunities are everywhere. You just have to keep your heart open. With half of the house already out of commission due to the epic-turd pipe explosion of 2026, I had a brilliant idea. While the men were tearing up the kitchen to repair the plumbing, I would take the opportunity to de-turquoise the kids’ bathroom! Shit sandwich from shit, as they say! Here is a photo of the before. Please, be a good friend and never let your dad friends allow their teenage daughters to pick paint colors. Just the worst…
