@Sentient_Atoms @ardacebie @elonmusk @LiveSquawk You act like you're the fucking Tesla executive who makes these decisions. How the fuck do you know what they're thinking? How do you even know HW4 will handle FSD everywhere? I bet your attitude will change dramatically when your 2 year old car is obsolete.

@ardacebie @elonmusk @LiveSquawk If you have a HW3 vehicle that means you have not bought anything for a while... So in your mind someone buying one car 7 years ago outweighs the 'support' vs someone buying 7 in that same timeframe? Tesla gives zero fucks about your perceived charity.

Macrohard or Digital Optimus is a joint xAI-Tesla project, coming as part of Tesla’s investment agreement with xAI. Grok is the master conductor/navigator with deep understanding of the world to direct digital Optimus, which is processing and actioning the past 5 secs of real-time computer screen video and keyboard/mouse actions. Grok is like a much more advanced and sophisticated version of turn-by-turn navigation software. You can think of it as Digital Optimus AI being System 1 (instinctive part of the mind) and Grok being System 2. (thinking part of the mind). This will run very competitively on the super low cost Tesla AI4 ($650) paired with relatively frugal use of the much more expensive xAI Nvidia hardware. And it will be the only real-time smart AI system. This is a big deal. In principle, it is capable of emulating the function of entire companies. That is why the program is called MACROHARD, a funny reference to Microsoft. No other company can yet do this.

@EliteDangerous Some awesome screenshots! Doing DW3 I've captured some I think would be worthy but doing a screenshot in VR doesn't look so good. ☹️

Been there done that with, fridge, hot water heaters. Got 7 years out of one and 10 out of the other. The tech said the same thing. You’re lucky you got 10. Best just throw it away and buy a new one. Fixing compressor is more expensive with my labor. They used to last 20-30 years ++ How about batteries 🙄same scam.

Our refrigerator just died... again. This is our second refrigerator in ten years. It was a Whirlpool, a "plain Jane" model with no bells, no whistles, and no fancy screens. We bought it for its simplicity, thinking it would be the one thing in our house that just worked. It lasted five years and one month, exactly thirty days past the warranty. The repairman’s verdict? A dead compressor. But the real diagnosis... it was Built to Break. Under the guise of "green" regulations and "energy efficiency," we’ve traded tanks that lasted thirty years for plastic-heavy shells that barely last five. We are forced to pay a premium for "high-efficiency" tech that saves ten cents a month on electricity, only to be told to throw the whole $1,500 + unit into a landfill when a single internal component fails. It’s a racket. The government mandates the specs, the manufacturers cut the quality, and the consumer is left holding a bag of spoiled milk. We don’t own appliances anymore; we just lease them from the scrap yard.

@CMDR_FOSDYKE Assuming they ever do implement this, I hope it'll be in VR instead of getting a flat screen when I leave the cockpit, like when on foot.

In Elite Dangerous, ships shouldn’t just be tools. We need our own quarters. A place to come back to. Where the fruit of our journeys lives on: discoveries, memories, traces of distant worlds. Exploration isn’t only about where you go. It’s also about what comes back with you.

@BrianMcCrary15 @EliteDangerous Had that happen to me with my AspX a few times before. Would be a nice feature to have us drop down and be picked up from places like this. We know it should be possible, they just have to add a little bit of extra code.

@pimaxofficial I would love to know how this is working without lighthouse. My triple monitors and 600mm actuators probably don't help but I just can't see this working with SLAM.

@TESLA_winston Tesla released a FSD build for MCU1 awhile back. 12.3.6 IIRC. 2017 and 2018 can be upgraded to HW3 by Tesla.

@SamaHoole How in the world can you say "it's not the science changed" when it most certainly did?! I would have been dead back a century ago, but now with a fast acting insulin like humalog, which is only fairly modern, I can eat more carbs because of the faster reaction time.

1850: "Diabetic patients must avoid sugar and starch entirely. Meat and fat are safe." 1900: "Diabetic patients should eat only meat, eggs, and butter until symptoms resolve." 1920: "Diabetic patients need insulin but should still restrict carbohydrates significantly." 1950: "Diabetic patients can eat moderate carbs if they take enough insulin." 1980: "Diabetic patients should eat plenty of whole grains as part of a balanced diet." 2025: "Diabetic patients should eat 45-60g carbs per meal and take metformin, insulin, and GLP-1 agonists." Notice the pattern? As pharmaceutical options increased, carb recommendations increased. It's not that the science changed. It's that the profit model changed. The treatment that kept diabetics alive for centuries was progressively replaced by treatments that generate recurring revenue. Your great-great-grandfather's doctor knew carbs were the problem. Your doctor knows you're a revenue stream.

NEWS: A new tax for electric and hybrid vehicles has been announced by the UK government. Starting in April 2028, electric car drivers will pay a road tax of 3p per mile ($0.04 USD), while plug-in hybrid drivers will pay 1.5p per mile, with the rates going up each year with inflation. Under the measures, an electric car driver clocking up 8,500 miles in the 2028-29 financial year is expected to pay about £255 ($337 USD). According to the OBR, the new per-mile charge is expected to bring in £1.1B in the 2028-29 financial year, rising to £1.9B by 2030-31. The new tax is about "half the fuel duty rate paid by drivers of petrol cars", according to the government's independent forecaster, the Office for Budget Responsibility.

There's a video going around Reddit, now being shared on X, of a robotaxi safety driver falling asleep. Assuming no medical condition, this person will likely be fired, although take a second to consider the first 2 comments. If the rider felt in danger in anyway, the move would have been to wake them up, ask them to stop the car. Instead they decided to film this and share on the internet.
