Boz Scaggs, Aimee Mann (til Tuesday), jazz Saxophonist Grover Washington, Jr., all the guys in Old 97s, and for a few years in the late 80s/early 90s I worked with and was pretty good friends with Jerry Shirley (drummer for Humble Pie and Fastway). I was the most star-struck with Boz, and he was SO chill. Very nice, no ego at all.

Can I split the baby and say late 70s-mid 80s? I feel like their golden era began with 2112 (‘76) and ended with Grace Under Pressure (‘84), or maybe even earlier with Signals (‘82, which is really a fantastic album). Not that the albums before and since don’t have a few great songs and playing, but 2112 through P/G were really the band’s apex, in my view.
