A police officer from Kakamega Central Police Station has died in a road accident along the Kakamega–Mumias Highway after the police vehicle he was driving collided head-on with a speeding truck carrying sugarcane. The wreckage of both the police vehicle and the truck has been taken to Kakamega Central Police Station, while the body of the deceased has been taken to Kakamega County Referral Funeral Parlour.

The energy we’re seeing from young people showing up to register is powerful and it deserves to be matched with proper support.
At the Kibera registration centre, we currently have only one clerk handling overwhelming numbers. This not only slows down the process but also places unnecessary strain on the officer on duty.
@IEBCKenya respond with urgency by deploying more clerks to this station. Access to registration must be efficient, dignified, and reflective of the enthusiasm on the ground.
Let’s not allow logistical gaps to discourage civic participation. The momentum is here now it’s about meeting it with the right systems in place.

Today at State lodge Kisumu, I joined H.E. William Ruto as he hosted the Muslim community for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
It is a privilege to share in this moment of reflection and joy. As a nation, our strength lies in our diversity and our shared commitment to peace.
Let us use this Eid to uplift one another and continue the work of building a country where every Kenyan has a stake in our collective prosperity.
To our Muslim brothers and sisters: May your faith be renewed and your homes be filled with peace. Eid Mubarak!"

Last year, as I was traveling from Casablanca, Morocco, something unexpected happened to me that I will never forget. ✈️
Somewhere in the middle of the vast ocean, surrounded by nothing but endless water and silence, a thought suddenly crossed my mind… What if this plane went down right here?
And then it hit me harder… What would happen to my people?
My strong, supportive women of Mumias East… who would stand for them? Who would walk with them? Who would fight for them?
At that moment, I couldn’t hold it in anymore.
Tears just started flowing down my cheeks… quietly, uncontrollably.
The cabin crew noticed and came over, wondering what was wrong. When I finally shared what was on my heart, something unexpected happened… people started smiling, even laughing softly—not to mock me, but because they understood. They saw the love. They felt it. ❤️
In that moment, I realized something deeper than words…
This is not just leadership.
This is not just representation.
This is LOVE.
Mumias East, you are not just my constituents… you are my family. And my heart beats for you every single day. ❤️🔥

It is with profound sorrow that I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and constituents of Hon. Johana Ng’eno following his tragic death in a helicopter crash today in Nandi County. As a dedicated leader and three-term Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr Constituency since 2013, he chaired the Departmental Committee on Housing, Urban Planning & Public Works, where we served together and witnessed his unwavering commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment. Rising from humble beginnings marked by hardship, Hon. Ng’eno was a visionary advocate for infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the Rift Valley, known for his outspoken resilience and integrity. His legacy as a symbol of defiance against injustice will endure. May God grant strength to all who mourn, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
