@kdemoff It also allows crumbling franchises like Cleveland or NY to continue crumbling long into the future. I would be highly in favor, however, of pushing the trade deadline later into the season!

Nothing creates more interest in the NFL than trades. This is why Cleveland’s proposal to allow teams to trade picks up to 5 years out as opposed to 3 years out makes so much sense. More picks to trade = more trades = more interest & team building options.

If it seems like there have been more trades than ever, there have been. Since the 2026 new league year started last week, there have been 18 trades, including Andy Dalton today. From the day the 2025 new league year started until the NFL Draft, there were 15 trades. One week of the league year this year already has produced three more trades than there were over weeks last year.

@AndyHermanNFL A defensive starter who really raises the floor of the defense. I'd love Sweat, but is that too many pass rushers to pay for? First choice would probably be a CB. We all know they need a nose, but they defended the run well with Wooden so I think CB changes the calculus the most

@BillsRunDeep2 Have you seen the list of the easiest schedules? Yup, Pats #1. But 7 of the next 8 all made the playoffs. Denver was #2!! Philly, Buffalo, Jags & Packers were all on the list. The only team in the top 9 not to make the Playoffs was the Cowboys. So, don't hate. Just win games!
