Tom Schultz was appointed by Trump to oversee 193 million acres of forests and public lands. That includes 154 national forests and 20 grasslands across 43 states. In his role, he’ll be responsible for leading forest management, research, development, and wildland firefighting. He was previously the vice president of resources and government affairs at Idaho Forest Group, a company that is now one of the country’s largest lumber producers. The appointment comes as the Trump administration moves to increase logging in national forests. Conservatives used to care about protecting our public lands. Now, they're allowing Trump to destroy them for profit.
