One requires evidence of mandatory job searches each week for four weeks, and the other is compulsory upskilling courses. National is focused on getting people off welfare and into work.

@Brian_NZ @mauriceraiti If they're struggling they must have a terrible rental and/or reputation. Most residents of NZ are renters not mortgage/owners. So that's millions of renters available.

How many land lords come to their tenants and say . I see rents are down .3% so l’m going to lower your rent by that amount. Does it or doesn’t it happen.I know dumb question.

@cjsbishop I guess that’s what happens if you crash the economy, destroy jobs, and encourage people to move overseas in search of work. It’s the one silver lining to this cloud though.

As well as my Amiga 1200 (w/ 2GB drive and 68060 card), I’ve just found my old C-64 and Commodore 1541 floppy drive, in their original packaging. I wonder if all those old floppy disks are readable…

@BrendaPilott I’m adding that action to the ever increasing list of dumb decisions with long term consequences that this government has made.

Cancelling the next and further censuses is a terrible decision. Its our core national data set, not least to determine the population for electorate boundaries. We'll live to regret this one.
