The Ryder Cup crowd was out of control at Bethpage and this will have definitely played a part. It wasn’t even 7am when an official announcer was leading the 1st tee grandstand into a chant of “fuck you Rory” on the mic.

@Mike_kim714 I don't know how they expect people to plan with such short notice, but I'd fly to Ireland this week regardless and enjoy playing some of the best links courses you'll find. You could even jump over to Liverpool or Scotland to play a few there too.

You’d think with less than two weeks before the Open Champ starts, the R&A could give me a decent idea of whether I’m playing it or not… but nope. All I’ve gotten is “you have a slight chance” 🙄
My friend who looked at all the qualifications has given me more info than the R&A has. There’s still 6 spots left and if they fill it with OWGR, then I’m most likely in but even that they won’t say anything about.

The online tool suggests that there is no issue, although the agent could confirm the problem? Told an inspection would happen on July 2nd, then June 30th. Completely unacceptable
