Seeing more blue lights around Charlotte this week? 🚓👀 It’s part of a statewide push to crack down on speeding. North Carolina Governor's Highway Safety Program's “Speed a Little. Lose a Lot.” campaign is now underway through April 5, with increased patrols and targeted traffic operations to catch speeding drivers and keep roads safer. Speeding is a major cause of injuries and deaths on North Carolina roadways - let's change that. Slow down and save a life. @NC_GHSP

More than double the speed limit and near construction?? Not on our watch! 🚨 Last week, our Motors Unit, with officers from our Central, Providence, Westover, Metro, Independence, University, Hickory Grove and North Divisions as well as @MeckSheriff completed a successful speed operation on I-277 outer. This operation led to 115 traffic stops with 141 charges, with one driver even stopped for going 113 mph when the speed limit is 50 mph and right near a construction zone! ➡️ Speeding - 95 ➡️ Expired or Invalid Registration - 17 ➡️ No Operating License - 7 ➡️ Reckless Driving - 6 ➡️ Driving While License Revoked - 4 ➡️ Failure to Move Over for Emergency Vehicles - 2 ➡️ Texting While Driving - 1 ➡️ Other - 9
