🌸 We are very disappointed to see that our three newly planted cherry trees, which were a charitable gift to promote peace and cooperation between Japan and the United Kingdom, have been stolen, along with most of the stakes and guards, and the explanatory notice!

In happier news, the daffodils are looking amazing in the sunshine. ☀️

🌸 According to Bristol tree officers, this is the only place this has happened. We will try to get them replaced next year, with larger stakes and guards to hopefully discourage this from happening again: japanuksakura.org

Residents can download an opt out letter to send to the streetscene team when they've set up a group to weed the street themselves. The council will continue to look for alternative ways to manage weeds including community payback in partnership with the probation service.
