The best part was the audience participation—questions, challenges, differing opinions, and real pushback. That is where the learning happens. Recently I’ve had to remind myself of a lesson I learned really on - "If nobody thinks you're delusional, you're not thinking big enough." Most of the smart people I knew told me not to start Brisk. They were well meaning and “right”. Would teachers even use AI? Would LLM costs sink the business? What about Browser Extensions – are they “real” products? Would school districts really purchase one? You wouldn’t imagine how many people brought up good questions that I didn’t have the best answers to. But I believed that it was worth a shot, because if we could do it, it would mean we could take what we knew to be good teaching and make it possible and sustainable for millions of educators. We would be able to personalize instruction to support every student. About a year ago, I started to feel less crazy – we were vindicated. After we hit the one million teacher milestone and raised a Series A, it seemed like maybe my “delusional era” was over. Maybe in a different world, that might have been right. I’ve realized that this moment deserves “crazy founders.” The landscape is shifting quickly: we're shifting from chatbots to agents taking complex actions. AI is rapidly becoming more powerful - in better and worse ways (yes, we need to talk about AI’s downsides). At Brisk we’re radically evolving our product so that we can meet this moment. The possibilities are endless, but the vision is the same: a world where every teacher is able to create life-changing learning for every student. I hope that we sound delusional. But I hope that you will be delusional with us
