When we lived in Singapore I banned all house guests from complaining ‘it’s hot’ We all knew it was hot. No one needs telling. Reading my feed today has reminded me just how irritating those visitors were 😂😂

@KurtinKent Ahh yes that was something my friend struggled with when his mum was diagnosed. You do need to keep yourselves sane though and it’s physically and mentally exhausting. If you ever need a chat DM me

@BritToSwiss So sorry to hear. We don’t have help yet but will need to get it done. She doesn’t like random people popping in.

@KurtinKent Oh I’m sure, I’m sorry. It’s hard to deal with. Do you have help? My mum had rapid onset dementia due to an infection and it was really tough, we luckily jumped the stage where she realised she was forgetting things and got frustrated.

@BritToSwiss My mum is living with us and I hear it every 30 minutes. She has Alzheimer’s so gets a free pass but it is irritating.

@donotcallmemike Of course there are hotels but we lived in a 4 bedroom house in the center of town and hotels are expensive. It was the same when we lived in Hong Kong and had lots of space.

@RelBackpacker @mamboitaliano__ My husband suggested a couple of days in Dubrovnik in July…. After I stopped laughing and explained why I’m not going to cruise ports in the summer we decided to drive through France to Strasburg instead. Croatia can wait till March !

@BritToSwiss @mamboitaliano__ Funny thing was, the wonderful war museum was empty, me and two or three others. Yet the high street, with all the shops that are in the UK like M&S, Next and H&M was swarming… 🤷‍♂️

🚨🌹 Everyone’s losing their minds over the mesmerizing petal shower falling from the Pantheon roof this Pentecost Sunday But somebody had to show you the actual Armageddon happening outside at the entrance 😂 Overtourism hitting different levels Rome, Italy 🇮🇹
James Lucas@JamesLucasIT

Today at noon thousands of red rose petals will flutter down through the oculus of the Pantheon in Rome. This spectacular tradition is held each year on the feast of Pentecost.

@RelBackpacker @mamboitaliano__ Yup it was the same when we were there. On the small islands it only makes sense to holiday there if you do t stay near the port cities and go late afternoon or for dinner when they all leave.

@BritToSwiss @mamboitaliano__ With you 100%. Here’s two views of Valletta, Malta I took in the same day, before and after the cruise ships docked. So glad I’m a morning person. 🥴

It’s fucking glorious at Costa del BombHead today. Bacon butties for breakfast, pub doors wide open, the HotTub is set at 35.5°C for a wee cool down if required, and the BBQ will be back on later. Absolutely no fucking about on a BankHoliday!

@BritToSwiss @simon_jackson I will do, in the meantime you can have a look at some of the recipes on Nigella.com , I got most of mine from there and adapted them to the ingredients I had at hand. Just ignore the “no churn” recipes.

@simon_jackson I have that machine, it’s ok but I prefer my cuisinart maker that actually churns the mix, funnily enough the cooked custard versions are better than the no cook ones.

@CataPaul2 Emmental is one of the most tasteless cheeses Switzerland produces IMO Appenzeller is by far superior. Who produced this miserable list?
