@aidan_sewch @ThirstRoundPick Hey man -- i intend no disrespect, just saying that trade precedent is not aligning with your trade proposals. Minter, specifically, should get a pretty solid return. I also imagine Lee is going to be valued as a star, so would be tough to move him for Beavers as it stands

Can we go ahead and replace Mike Elias with this guy?

With the second half of the MLB season just two days away, the trade deadline is approaching quickly. With a late 4-game win streak to end the first half, the Orioles sit at 46-51 and 2 games back in the AL wild-card picture. Here is what I think the Orioles should do at the deadline... These 3 trades would do a lot for the Orioles in the second half of the season. 1. Trading away Taylor Ward sucks, but he is on an expiring contract, and I do not see him being a part of this team's future. Getting back Gabriel Arias has shown flashes this year with the Guardians and will provide depth on the infield with the loss of Blaze Alexander. Justin Campbell is an older prospect who has been good when healthy this year in AA and AAA. 2. AJ Minter is a proven veteran in the majors on an expiring deal that will provide much-needed left-handed bullpen depth for a struggling Orioles bullpen. 3. The biggest trade I have is the Orioles moving on from Dylan Beavers in a deal for Jung Hoo Lee. I like Beavers as a young hitter and Watts-Brown as a pitching prospect, but it is time for the Orioles to make a big-impact trade. The Orioles get a guy in Lee who always hits around .300 and can provide a consistent contact guy to the top of the lineup. The Giants get back a young corner outfielder that can aid in their inevitable rebuild, and a pitching prospect that they can use in their future. Thoughts? #birdland

@SportyLaF0rge @cjwalters4242 @Burgh_Fanatic i dont think you are going to convince them to punt on this core with the amount of money still owed to it, whether its the right decision or not. I would be shocked if they accepted teenagers.

@BrixBaseball @cjwalters4242 @Burgh_Fanatic They have one of the worst lineups in baseball rn and have a bunch of overpaid aging vets in the lineup. Makes sense to score a couple top 100 prospect hitters including Florentino who is one of the top young hitting prospects. Also underlying stats say they will fall off soon.

@EricPitlyk tough sell to have pitchers have one pace all season just to give batters free reign to fuck with their rhythm in the playoffs. Just my thought

@EddiePayne1 @SleeperPhillies They took an injured guy because thats why he fell in the draft. He was 17 when he was hurt, if he can health properly, they got a top 20 talent at pick 36

@SleeperPhillies The farm needs ball players, I think picking lesser players because of an injury makes sense if we had depth. We don’t. Take the best available and let it work itself out.

@SportyLaF0rge @cjwalters4242 @Burgh_Fanatic can you explain why the Padres -- who are going to try to still be good next year -- would accept players who are multiple years away? Its just not going to happen. They traded the big prospects for Soto, then when they traded him away -- it was almost all for immediate help

@cjwalters4242 @BrixBaseball @Burgh_Fanatic And now miller has one less year of control so the package will be slightly smaller. I said Florentino would be the HEADLINER not the only piece. They could do something like Florentino and Wyatt Sanford plus a couple arms.

@SportyLaF0rge @cjwalters4242 @Burgh_Fanatic because you have to give to get. Miller isnt a normal trade acquisition. You don't trade for him because you need another reliever, you trade for him to get the very best guy. Phillies traded Mick Abel for Jhoan Duran now we trot Alan Rangel out there every 5th day

@erik_halterman @MaconWBurner that year the Phillies talks were of Moniak (for underslot, which they did, then whiffed on everyone after), Kyle Lewis, AJ Puk, or Jay Groome. Groome/Puk was thought to be the guy by most until the day of the draft. AJ Puk post TJ redemption is coming, stay tuned.

@MaconWBurner Yeah Garrett would have been the best realistic alternative, but if I remember right, there were like 5 or 6 candidates for 1.1 and he wasn't really part of the group.

@SportyLaF0rge @cjwalters4242 @Burgh_Fanatic 1.) 3.5 years of an elite closer is going to cost you your untouchable pieces. 2.) De Vries was ranked 3rd by MLB Pipeline and 10th by fangraphs at the moment of the trade, so you're wrong there. 3.) You have to consider team need -- Padres arent going to take a teenager back

@cjwalters4242 @SportyLaF0rge @Burgh_Fanatic im sure they would be interested in Valdez, Horwitz, Jones, Chandler, Mlodzinski, Password, Blanco, Flores, etc all to some degree. To get Miller, its gonnnnaaa hurt. Seth + one of those guys + some filler might get the conversation started?

@cjwalters4242 @SportyLaF0rge @Burgh_Fanatic realistically, they'd have to include Hernandez or guys off the big league club. Sanford and Florentino are great pieces but probably too far away for the Padres. They have big money and they need guys who will help now.

@ZacharyFast2 @RileyDaGoat_ you know what else has happened in the past decade? Your GM got banned for life for cheating by using unethical methods to sign players you still have. Deserves an asterisk next to 2021 as much as the 2017 Astros
