With the second half of the MLB season just two days away, the trade deadline is approaching quickly. With a late 4-game win streak to end the first half, the Orioles sit at 46-51 and 2 games back in the AL wild-card picture. Here is what I think the Orioles should do at the deadline... These 3 trades would do a lot for the Orioles in the second half of the season. 1. Trading away Taylor Ward sucks, but he is on an expiring contract, and I do not see him being a part of this team's future. Getting back Gabriel Arias has shown flashes this year with the Guardians and will provide depth on the infield with the loss of Blaze Alexander. Justin Campbell is an older prospect who has been good when healthy this year in AA and AAA. 2. AJ Minter is a proven veteran in the majors on an expiring deal that will provide much-needed left-handed bullpen depth for a struggling Orioles bullpen. 3. The biggest trade I have is the Orioles moving on from Dylan Beavers in a deal for Jung Hoo Lee. I like Beavers as a young hitter and Watts-Brown as a pitching prospect, but it is time for the Orioles to make a big-impact trade. The Orioles get a guy in Lee who always hits around .300 and can provide a consistent contact guy to the top of the lineup. The Giants get back a young corner outfielder that can aid in their inevitable rebuild, and a pitching prospect that they can use in their future. Thoughts? #birdland
