Yesterday was an important day for Litecoin. A 13 block reorganization has reversed an invalid MWEB transaction while the blockchain continued running. The invalid transaction was caused by a bug, because specific LTC nodes were not updated and one or more entities tried to use this bug for themselves. While this matter got popular on X, many people used the situation to spread fake news about Litecoin. - "51% of the blockchain got hacked" - "Litecoin has no 100% uptime anymore" - "Users lost funds" ... The reality is: - Litecoin and the team reacted really fast and fixed the bug in hours while dropping an updated version of Litecoin Core for everyone. - Not one LTC was stolen. All holders are safe. - The chain didn't go down, just was slowed for some time while reorganizing the affected blocks. This means that this was just a stress test and the team managed the whole thing with bravour! Uptime is still 100%. ✅
