Congratulations to Mayor Mamdani. He inherited a huge budget deficit, brought it down to zero, and still invested in childcare, housing and city infrastructure.
When municipal governments stand with working families, not billionaires, there is nothing they cannot accomplish.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor
When we came into office, we uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit. Today, I’m proud to say we brought it down to zero. We didn’t close the gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets and making historic investments in public housing. Call it Pothole Politics. Call it Democratic Socialism. It's government that delivers for the people who make this city run. That’s what New Yorkers deserve. And that’s what we will keep fighting for every single day.

@ThoughtCrimes80 Regardless of this being true, I’m moving out of this shitshow in t-a month🎉🎉🎉

I heard someone say recently that Colorado is considering a Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) tax, using street cameras to log mileage from every car in the state.
Cameras would record you driving on Colorado roadways and bill/tax you for the mileage you’ve traveled either monthly or yearly.
I can’t find any credible info, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did it. And when that happens, nobody who lives in Colorado will be able to sell their house and escape.
Literally nobody is stupid enough to move to Colorado and put up with that nonsense.

@richgel999 @grok is there any evidence this is actually happening?
English

@PeteButtigieg @grok how much did the Biden administration spend on Europe’s Ukraine war?
How much is spent every year on benefits for illegal immigrants?
How many taxpayer dollars have been wasted to fraud in democrat run states?
English

We now know the Iran war price tag is more like $50 billion - hundreds of dollars per household - and counting.
It's enough to cover all the health insurance premium credits that the Republicans got rid of for this year, and next. It could save rural hospitals, pay teachers, fix roads.
Don't let this White House insult your intelligence by blowing your money on war, then saying America can't afford nice things.

@SheriffStrategy Ladies and gentleman, this is your pilot speaking, we’ve been cleared for take off

@PathfinderAstro So salvation transfers across incarnations but damnation doesn’t. You’ve just invented a system where no past-life soul can damn you but any past-life soul can save you. That’s not Christianity, its a lottery system for those who reject Christ in this supposed incarnation.
English

@Broncosgg Theres no such thing as anti-leaven

Christianity’s confusion about death and the afterlife seems to stem from not recognizing or understanding the difference between the soul and spirit.
They are two different things, not one thing with two names. Two spiritual, nonphysical things that are not merely “inside you”, but which together are the very essence of your being and selfhood and identity.
The problem is, they can and sometimes do split apart. Hebrews 4:12 teaches us that.
And when they happen to do this splitting apart at death, they then can each go on to different afterlife experiences.
Do not be quick to discount the possibility of the spirit reincarnating. The citizens of Israel in Jesus’ day obviously did not, as they are recorded in scripture unabashedly speculating if John the Baptist might be the reincarnation of Elijah or one of the prophets. Even today, the Jews believe in reincarnation. They even have a word for it - Gilgul.
Yes, the church is correct that the human soul winds up in heaven or hell after death. But thats only half the story.
Your spirit belongs to God, and it always returns to God after you die. Like when we saw that Jesus commended His spirit to God when He died, even as His soul was going into hell.
And if God chooses to send your spirit back to earth for another incarnation, He certainly has that option. Who’s going to tell Him “no”?
For more, see my book, “The Lost Secret of Death”, 2005.

So what happens if one of your past-life souls rejected Christ? Does that leaven the whole loaf the other direction? Are your other souls damned because of a life you don’t remember living?
If salvation can transfer automatically across incarnations, can damnation? If not, what is the mechanism that determines grace transmits over, but not judgment?
English

This framework also provides an elegant explanation for the Resurrection of the Dead phenomenon on judgement day.
If everyone has loads of old past-life souls stored up from their past life incarnations, then the Resurrection of the Dead would be when all these past-life selves and past-life memories are reawakened inside the minds of the living.
This also elegantly explains the parable of the leaven. If any of our past-life selves ever accepted Christ and was saved, then that leaven will leaven the whole loaf, automatically saving all that person’s past-life souls from beginning to end.
English

@SenatorHick Or, crazy thought, mass importation of children who never got vaccinated 🤔
English

@PathfinderAstro Within that framework reincarnation doesn’t really follow. The spirit returns immediately to God (Ecclesiastes 12:7) and we established that the soul faces judgment. This describes two destinations, neither of which is rebirth.
English

@Broncosgg “People die once and then go to judgement” is true if you equate the soul alone with the person, but not their spirit. The spirit never dies at all, and certainly doesnt go to hell. But the soul does both.

I believe that Scripture gives us a clear and beautiful answer here.
Christ holds the keys to death and hades (Rev 1:18). With Jesus being fully man and fully God (Col 2:9), something very important happened on that cross.
When Jesus died, three things happened simultaneously. His body went to the tomb. His human spirit was commended to the Father (Luke 23:46). And His divine nature, being eternal and omnipresent, continued uninterrupted. Death cannot contain what is not subject to death.
This is why He could promise the thief paradise that day (Luke 23:43) while simultaneously holding the keys to death and hades as its sovereign Lord. He is not limited to one location or one moment. The Trinity makes Him present in every reality at once.
Even 1 Peter 3, the passage I believe you’re referring to in your statement that we are reliably told He went to hell, describes Christ among the dead not as a victim of punishment but as a King making a proclamation over death.
Scripture is clear that people are to die once, and after that to face judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Reincarnation requires multiple deaths and defers final accountability indefinitely. Both of these directly contradict the Bible’s linear, unrepeatable arc of human history, death, and resurrection.
English

@Broncosgg Yet we are reliably told that Jesus went to hell when He died, not to heaven.
