@StanCollymore It’s not hard to see that Carlos is the weak link. Every game he loses possession, hands all over strikers, last ditch tackles. He just doesn’t read the game.

HT 0-1 Visitors fresh, lively and creating threats often. Villa look leggy, a chronic drop off from midweek which is a concern with Prem/CL game management. McGinn off injured. Expect Bailey and Duran either at HT or on the hour.

Diego Carlos is an error machine. He does that startlingly often, he just often gets away with it. Such a big drop-off at centre-back whenever he plays. #AVFC

@bostonmarathon @BAA @BankofAmerica @BAA you should make the non binary times the male times. Why would being non binary make you a slower runner or/and give you an advantage over male runners?

@bostonmarathon @BAA @BankofAmerica male on the edge of qualification.Easy, sign up to any other marathon and “pretend” to be non binary. With that time apply for Boston as non binary and you’re in. Once completed go back to being not non binary. Such a flawed system, I know people have already taken advantage of

@stevemagness My pace goes up with stride length. My cadence is very between the same across all speeds

The common notion of trying to run 180 strides per minute is way too quick turnover for most beginner and intermediate athletes... Why? Speed = Stride Rate x Length. If you're running 10-minute miles... you're just spinning your wheels, covering zero ground...

Endurance saved me. At 22 I was in a corporate 9-5, living for the weekend. Lost and fat. At 28 I am in a corporate 9-5, living every day. Found and fit. Endurance gave me direction. A way to express myself. Belief I can be more. You can have this too.

A hill I will gladly die on. Just because you have completed an Ironman, marathon or any sporting event does not immediately qualify you to coach and give out plans for said event. Coaching is much more nuanced its being able to see the big picture, periodisation and balance.

With regret, I will not be starting the Great North Run today. I’ve not recovered from last weeks parkrun and don’t feel that I’ve taken enough selfies during this weeks training and feeling burnt out. Hope everyone has a great race but you can still look at my blog

@Dan_Nash94 I read a book that said wearing gloves and then keeping them wet in marathon races has a positive benefit on the body!

@Dan_Nash94 Reason I asked is I went out hot yesterday on a HM, pulled it back after first mile but was shocked how fatigued the legs felt at mile 3 onwards. Only thing I can think is the first mile took its toll on me. Appreciate the response and reading my way through your thesis

@Brumierunner Most of the research describes what an optimal marathon pacing strategy is (even/slight negative split) rather than explain the "why?". Going out fast & then settling isnt going to be optimal, probably due to increased glycogen use & reduced economy rather than lactate build up

@Dan_Nash94 morning Dan, have any studies been done to see the overall impact and effect of going off to fast in a marathon? For example running at threshold pace from the gun then slowing down at say mile 4? Is there a build up of lactic immediately that then can’t be shifted?

All eyes will be on the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee when they meet this Thursday. Will they cut the base rate, after holding it at 5.25% for nearly a year? See what the experts have to say: bit.ly/3StOkqf #FlagstoneMarketInsight #BaseRate

@prince_asanda @Im_RobM The stats are facts young man. To lose the ball means you’ve had the ball, called for the ball, moved for the ball. Football is about opinions, but facts are facts.
